Chapter 88: Inheritance and Coordinates
Chapter 88: Inheritance and Coordinates
The narrow passage was dimly lit by blue light, with only the sounds of hurried footsteps and heavy breathing.
Hong grabbed Taino's arm and ran deeper into the area without looking back. He ran for several kilometers before stopping, only stopping when he was sure that the murderous intent behind him was not chasing him.
"puff."
As soon as Hong Gang stopped, his chest heaved, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood mixed with dark purple clots.
The blow from that puppet armor almost shattered his internal organs. He took out a Wood Crystal from his spatial ring, crushed it into powder, and swallowed it.
Pure life energy spread throughout his body, rapidly repairing his damaged organs and bones.
Taino stood aside, looking at Hong's pale face with a look of regret.
"Master, it's all...it's all my fault for being so useless, causing you to suffer such serious injuries."
His voice was thick with nasal tone and a sobbing quality.
"It's alright."
Hong casually wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and the auxiliary light-up device on his wrist lit up, with Qiu Jian's virtual projection appearing beside him.
"This kind of bloodline-triggered fatal trap has a very extreme mechanism."
Qiu Jian analyzed it in his perpetually indifferent tone.
"If your bloodline concentration hadn't just reached the minimum value required to activate the program, that cosmic-level Tier 3 battle armor would have exhausted its energy and blasted us into cosmic dust."
Hong looked up at the deep blue passageway ahead.
"Where does this lead? Can you scan it to find out?"
"The signal was blocked by a special energy coating."
Qiu Jian analyzed.
"However, according to the logic of how we build war fortresses on Sword-Loving Star, since an escape route has been left, the end of it is very likely the place of inheritance left by the Purple Star Commander to his descendants."
Without further delay, the two continued forward following the blue light.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, the view suddenly opened up ahead.
They entered a quaint, miniature secret chamber. The walls of the chamber were made of an unknown metal. In the very center of the chamber, a multifaceted memory crystal that emitted a soft red light floated. Around the crystal were three heavy alloy treasure chests covered in dust.
Hong's gaze swept quickly across the secret room, and only after confirming that there was no danger did he look at Taino, who was looking excited beside him.
"Go, that should be the legacy left by your clan's leader."
Taino's body trembled slightly with excitement as he moved step by step toward the blood-red inheritance crystal.
He took a deep breath, and with trembling hands, extended his right palm and placed it on the cool surface of the crystal. In an instant, a blinding red light burst forth from inside the crystal, completely enveloping Taino.
Hong stepped back a few paces, gripping his spear tightly and remaining vigilant. He could sense a massive flow of memory information contained within the red light, frantically pouring into Taino's mind.
More than half an hour later, the red light surrounding Tylenol gradually faded and eventually receded into his body.
Taino slowly opened his eyes.
The cowardice and decadence he had developed from years of being a slave had vanished, replaced by a reserved yet resolute temperament.
Taino turned around and quickly walked to Hong, kneeling on one knee.
"Master, I have obtained the complete memory inheritance of Commander Zixing."
Tylenol's eyes were red.
Hong nodded.
"What's with that battle armor outside?"
Taino quickly explained.
"Master, that battle armor is called Purple Light. It is not a deadly trap, but a protector left by the commander to his successor to safeguard the legacy."
"Once I master the core secrets of the inheritance, I can reawaken it and rewrite the attack commands. It will obey any command I give. Moreover, the power of the battle armor will change according to the level of the energy core. Furthermore, if a warrior gains its approval and wears it, their combat power will also increase significantly."
Upon hearing this news, a glint of surprise flashed in Hong's eyes.
"Good, excellent. With this cosmic-level Tier 3 battle armor, we will have more confidence when facing the Norlan Mountain family."
Hong's gaze shifted to the three dusty treasure chests in the corner.
"What's inside these boxes?"
Taino answered respectfully.
"According to the commander's memory, these were the last supplies in the fortress, left for us, his descendants, to rebuild civilization."
Hong said no more, stepped forward, and used the tip of his gun to lift the lid of the first and heaviest box.
"Buzz—"
The box was opened, revealing a spatial ring. Hong's consciousness was placed inside, and the ring contained tens of thousands of perfectly cut, pure cosmic crystals.
In the universe, this is hard currency.
Beneath the cosmic crystal lay three fist-sized, rhomboid cores, radiating palpitating energy fluctuations.
Qiu Jian's virtual figure instantly moved closer, and blue data streams flashed wildly in his electronic eyes.
"Master, these are specially made high-specification energy cores. The energy of each one is enough to reactivate and power your C5-level crimson puppet for a long time. Furthermore, if you embed them into the outer purple light battle armor, it can enhance its combat power to another level."
A glint of light flashed in Hong's eyes.
The heavy burden that had been weighing on his heart for so long finally disappeared, and for it, he risked his life to cross 128 light-years of space.
Now, we finally have so many cosmic crystals and the key to power a fifth-order cosmic-level puppet.
Hong slowly clenched his fist, his knuckles cracking slightly, and a cold smile appeared on his lips.
"With the energy core in hand, Earth's trump card is complete. Nolan Mountain family, in three months, however many of you come, that many will die."
Then Hong pushed open the second box.
There was no light inside the box, only a dark silver data chip, lying quietly in the shock-absorbing groove.
Qiu Jian quickly scanned the area once and immediately gave his conclusion.
"Master, this is a high-security encrypted inheritance chip. Judging from the information fluctuations, it contains all the martial arts techniques and secret skills of our Sword Devouring Star, including the complete 'Blood Blossom' secret technique."
Hong picked up the chip and handed it to Taino.
"Keep this safe. It's a remnant of your home planet's civilization, and it can also serve as a reference for training martial artists on Earth. Keep it safe."
After settling the contents of the first two boxes, Hong walked expectantly toward the last one.
Anything that can be placed alongside wealth and the ultimate knowledge of civilization must be extraordinary.
"Creak—"
He slowly lifted the heavy lid of the third box.
Hong was stunned.
The box was completely empty; there wasn't even a speck of dust, let alone any treasure.
"Huh? Why is there nothing here?"
Taino peered over, puzzled.
Hong frowned slightly.
He didn't believe that the Purple Star Commander would leave an empty box at the final inheritance site as a charade. He immediately mobilized his genetic energy, separated a wisp of his perception, and slowly probed the bottom of the box.
The moment his senses touched the cold bottom of the box, Hong's brain went blank, and a dizzying, detaching sensation washed over him.
His vision blurred instantly, and when it cleared again, he was horrified to find that he was no longer in the secret room.
He floated alone in an endless, dark starry sky. In the depths of the distant starry sky, a dazzling point of light flickered at a strange frequency, as if beckoning him.
With a thought, Hong transformed into a streak of light, swiftly traversing this strange starry sky and approaching the point of light. The moment his finger touched the point of light, a long string of complex spatial coordinates was forcibly forced into his mind.
The scene before my eyes suddenly distorted.
Hong shook his throbbing head and suddenly came to his senses.
He found himself still standing in the secret room, still reaching into the empty box, as if nothing had ever happened.
But the clear spatial coordinates in his mind reminded him that what had just happened was definitely not an illusion.
