Chapter 57 The Doctor's Gift
Chapter 57 The Doctor's Gift
"Let's go, let's get out!"
Upon hearing Dr. Brief's voice, Rod immediately waved to Bulma and then walked outside.
Little Bulma, who was lagging behind, glanced around at the buildings and spaces inside the Time Chamber. Her big eyes blinked, and it was unclear what she was thinking. Then she ran out as well.
Before Rhodes had even stepped out of the portal, he saw Dr. Brief looking inside from the doorway.
Moreover, besides Dr. Brief, there was also his pet, a little black cat.
This little black cat is also a magical creature. It looks ordinary, just a regular cat, but it has lived for many years, even during the time of Black Wukong.
"Who are you?"
Upon seeing the young man emerge from the portal, Dr. Brief's eyes flashed with doubt.
However, noticing the familiar resemblance between Rhodes' features, he recognized the young man after a moment's thought: "You're Rhodes? You've changed so much in over a year!"
"It's me, Doctor, long time no see!"
Rhodes was not surprised to be recognized by Dr. Brief.
Even though he had grown up, his appearance still bore similarities to his previous one. Moreover, given Bulma's intelligence, the fact that she was able to follow him into the Time Chamber suggested that she was someone he knew.
Under such circumstances, it's normal for Dr. Brief to recognize himself.
Dr. Brief was genuinely surprised as he looked at Rhodes, who was tall and straight with his black hair standing on end and whose eyes were both gentle and sharp.
"Oh, it's been a long time, Rod!"
With a sigh in his heart, Dr. Brief responded to Rhodes.
Upon seeing Rhodes again, Dr. Brief immediately asked the question that had been nagging at him: "Rhodes, I created some small things while studying your spaceship, but..."
"Doctor, are you referring to the issue of patents and licensing?"
Upon seeing Dr. Brief mention the spaceship, and recalling what Bulma had just said, Rod understood what he was trying to say.
"Yes, yes, can you get a patent license?"
Upon hearing Rhodes's words, Dr. Brief's eyes lit up. He glanced at Bulma, who had run out right after Rhodes, and asked expectantly.
Faced with Dr. Brief's expectations, Rhodes shook his head helplessly: "I'm sorry, Doctor, my spaceship is very common in space, just a run-of-the-mill vessel. I'm afraid it will be difficult!"
"Is that so?"
Since Rhodes said so, Dr. Brief sighed with regret.
Seeing the doctor's expression, Rhodes thought for a moment and couldn't help but say, "Doctor, I don't think you need to care about patent licensing issues."
First, antigravity technology is a very common technology in the universe, just like those publicly available patented technologies on Earth, which can be used freely.
Secondly, Earth has virtually no trade or interaction with extraterrestrial civilizations. Using these technologies will benefit humanity on Earth and will not have any impact on other extraterrestrial civilizations.
So I think you can use it freely without overthinking it!
As Rhodes said, Earth, a planet located on the edge of the Milky Way, is insignificant even in the Milky Way, let alone in the entire universe.
"You have a point!"
After hearing Rhodes's words, Dr. Brief stroked his beard, seemingly lost in thought.
"By the way, this time when I came back, I specifically collected some technological data that doesn't exist on Earth. Doctor, you'd better make good use of it!"
Seeing that Dr. Brief had a breakthrough in his thinking, Rhodes returned to the Time Chamber and gave him the technological data he had collected on inhabited planets in the universe after leaving Adelaide.
Taking the documents from Rhodes, Dr. Brief flipped through them and, sure enough, found they contained technologies that didn't currently exist on Earth. He became extremely excited: "Excellent, excellent! The value of these things is immeasurable!"
The more Dr. Brief looked through the document, the more valuable Dr. Bryce felt that what Rod had brought was, and his resolve grew stronger.
"Rhodes, the knowledge you brought me, and the spaceship research you gave me, have been incredibly valuable! Compared to that, I only helped you build a gravity chamber, which makes me feel really bad!"
At this point, Dr. Brief looked at Rhodes with a serious expression: "Rhodes, I know that money is of little use to someone like you, but besides being a little smart, I also have a lot of money."
So, I've decided to give you 20% of the shares in the Capsule Corporation. What do you think?
This was a solution that Dr. Brief had thought about for a long time.
Putting aside the power that Rhodes himself possesses, if he wanted to, he could probably take over the entire Earth with ease. Just considering the amount of technological data that Rhodes brought, if used properly, the value he could create would even be greater than that of the entire Capsule Corporation.
In contrast, Rhodes only asked me to build a Dragon Ball radar and a gravity chamber, which made Dr. Brief feel guilty.
Therefore, upon seeing Rhodes again, and especially upon seeing the scientific and technological materials he had brought for him once more, Dr. Brief immediately expressed his thoughts.
Faced with Dr. Brief's serious expression, Rhodes was somewhat amused and exasperated: "This is really unnecessary, and I don't need it!"
For Rhodes, whose current combat power is in the millions, who has mastered super teleportation, and has several other spells, if he wants to make money, he can make a fortune just by visiting a hospital with his healing spells, without even using force.
"It's decided then! I'll have someone bring the documents for you to sign later!"
Dr. Brief disregarded Rhodes's thoughts and forcefully made the decision.
If it weren't for the fact that the company had other shareholders and he didn't own all the shares, Dr. Brief would have even wanted to give more.
"Alright!"
Seeing that Dr. Brief was adamant, Rhodes did not continue to refuse and accepted it readily to put Dr. Brief's mind at ease.
He quickly stopped dwelling on the question and, recalling Bulma's words, couldn't help but ask, "Bulma said that an alien came to Earth?"
In response to Rhodes's words, Dr. Brief nodded: "Yes, my eldest daughter Tais told me that the alien's name is Jac, and he is a super elite of the Galactic Patrol."
His spaceship is broken, and he wants my help.
Rhodes, are you familiar with the Galactic Patrol?
It really is Jacques from the Galactic Patrol, the guy who looks almost like Ultraman.
"I know this organization, the Galactic Patrol. As the name suggests, it is the police force of the galaxy. Its leader is called the Galactic King, and it is dedicated to fighting criminals in the galaxy and maintaining peace in the galaxy."
That's what they say, but in reality, the Galactic Patrol can only deal with small fry. They can't handle anything slightly stronger and have to rely on their superiors, like the Supreme Kai.
He claims to be maintaining galactic peace, but it seems that when Jak first came to Earth, he intended to exterminate all of humanity.
Even the entire Galactic Patrol agreed, believing that Earth was too backward, barbaric, and had a low level of civilization, so it wouldn't matter if it were destroyed.
"Oh, so you're saying that alien was a good person!"
Upon hearing Rhodes's introduction of the Galactic Patrol, Dr. Brief immediately felt a sense of goodwill towards Gaker, whom he had never met before.
Is he a good person? Maybe.
Rod remained noncommittal about Dr. Brief's assessment. Was Jaco's main purpose in coming to Earth to eliminate Goku?
