Chapter 389: Biological Alchemist
Chapter 389: Biological Alchemist
Li Wei accepted Claude’s trial.
He was teleported into an independent Secret Realm.
The Secret Realm had no exit. He could only leave safely after learning the Space Ripping Skill.
A day had passed in the blink of an eye.
Li Wei withdrew from the Dream World.
[Space Ripping Skill (Tier Four Mastery)] 541/2000
After a long period of training and practice, Li Wei had developed a faint Space Perception Ability.
Compared to a true Space Perception Ability, his was more like an intuition born from experience.
It wasn’t much to speak of, but it was enough for now.
He scanned his surroundings, and his intuition told him that the spot three steps ahead was the weakest point in the Secret Realm.
These weak points in space were often connection points.
’This is probably the way out.’
It had just been sealed.
’Li Wei checked the time. If I leave now, it’ll be perfect. I can still make it to the exchange meet.’
He had already achieved his goal for coming to the Space Tower, so participating in the exchange meet wasn’t actually that important.
However, Li Wei wanted to see the skills of the Mages from the other top Mage Towers for himself.
So he was still looking forward to the exchange meet.
Li Wei cast the Space Ripping Skill.
A slit silently appeared at the weak point in space before him.
In the blink of an eye, the slit expanded enough for a person to pass through.
He peered outside and could sense a stable space on the other side of the rift.
That meant it was safe on the other side.
Li Wei smiled and stepped into the spatial rift.
WHOOSH!
Li Wei appeared in Claude’s room.
Claude stared at Li Wei, dumbfounded. The teacup in his hand slipped and fell to the floor.
Just as the teacup was about to hit the floor...
WHOOSH! It reappeared in his hand.
Li Wei’s eyes widened slightly.
He could sense that Claude’s power was unfathomable.
The more he understood Space Magic, the more he realized just how difficult Claude’s feat had been.
Claude placed the teacup on the table and stared at Li Wei in utter disbelief.
"You learned the Space Ripping Skill in just one day?"
Claude exclaimed in shock.
He had never expected Li Wei to actually learn the Space Ripping Skill.
He would have been satisfied if Li Wei had simply borrowed the power from the mural.
He never thought Li Wei would give him such a massive "surprise."
This was more than a surprise; it was a shock.
He looked at Li Wei skeptically. "You really don’t have a Space System Extraordinary Trait?"
Li Wei replied, "I don’t. But I do have an Extraordinary Trait that accelerates my ability to learn Magic."
Claude froze for a moment upon hearing this.
He frowned in thought. "That can’t be right. Even with an Extraordinary Trait like that, it’s impossible to learn so quickly."
Claude had encountered Extraordinary Traits that enhanced one’s learning speed for Magic before.
But he had never seen learning capabilities as astonishing as Li Wei’s.
But the facts were the facts. No matter how difficult it was to process, Claude had no choice but to accept it.
Besides, as a Mage, he had seen far too many incredible things.
Claude looked at Li Wei in awe. "With your learning ability, I’m certain that, given enough time, you could become an All-Element Mage."
He didn’t say Li Wei could become the *strongest* Mage.
After all, while learning ability was related to becoming the strongest Mage, the two weren’t intrinsically linked.
Some Legendary Mages only know a single spell, but that one spell is enough for them to dominate.
Li Wei smiled. "Thank you for the praise, sir."
"And thank you for the gift of this spell," Li Wei added sincerely.
Claude shook his head. "Don’t thank me. You earned this with your own abilities."
"By the way, did you come to the Space Tower to participate in the exchange meet?" Claude asked.
Li Wei nodded. "Yes."
’He couldn’t very well say he came just to learn Space Magic, could he?’
Claude smiled. "In that case, I’ll look forward to your performance at the exchange meet. Don’t disappoint me."
"Your Power might be a little on the weak side, but with your learning ability, you should be able to achieve a decent result."
’In his eyes, since Li Wei could so easily learn the Tier Four Space Ripping Technique, it was entirely possible he could learn a Tier Five, or even a Tier Six, Elemental Magic spell. With that kind of firepower, even as a Tier Four Mage, he would have a high chance of achieving a good result.’
Li Wei nodded and smiled. "Then I thank you for your high expectations, sir. I’ll be taking my leave."
After leaving the library, Li Wei returned to the residential area for Mages from the Elemental Tower.
When he got back, he found the area had become much more lively.
Aside from the Space Tower’s own Mages, the visiting Mages from the other four top Mage Towers were all staying nearby.
Elemental Tower, Space Tower, Alchemy Tower, Illusion Spirit Tower, and Summoning Tower.
The five strongest and most prestigious Mage Towers in the world.
Now, the most promising young Mages from across the world had gathered at the Space Tower for a showdown.
Unfortunately, this grand event would not be open to the public.
Only members of the five great Mage Towers would be qualified to spectate.
Li Wei looked around but didn’t see any familiar faces.
Just as he turned to head back...
A figure suddenly appeared behind him.
"Ah!"
Li Wei nearly bumped into them.
A girl in a large white robe and thick-lensed glasses, who came up to about Li Wei’s chest, let out a small cry.
"Sorry, I didn’t see you," Li Wei said quickly.
The girl with the glasses waved her hand. "It’s okay. It was my fault, too."
Li Wei glanced at the Magic Emblem on her robes.
It was the crest of a potion bottle and a gear.
’An Alchemist.’
"You’re an Alchemist?" Li Wei asked.
The girl nodded, adjusting her glasses. "Mhm. My name is Erica, from the Alchemy Tower."
"I’m Li Wei, a student from the Elemental Tower," Li Wei replied with a smile.
Erica looked up at Li Wei and smiled. "You’re built so solidly. You don’t look like a Mage."
"Oh? And what does a Mage look like, in your opinion?" Li Wei asked.
Erica thought for a moment. "Well, they’re not as sturdy as you, that’s for sure. Much easier to dismember than a Magic Beast. Although, it gets more troublesome when some Mages undergo flesh and blood Elementalization."
’Li Wei’s scalp tingled. Is this girl an Alchemist or a butcher?’
’Why is she always talking about dismembering people?’
Noticing Li Wei’s expression, Erica gave him a friendly smile.
She said, "Oh, I forgot to mention. I’m a Biological Alchemist. It’s probably a little different from the kind of Alchemist you’re familiar with."
Li Wei: "Uh..."
’A series of equations popped into his head.’
’Biological Alchemist = Bio-modification = Biochemical Demon = Bio-modification Expert = Mad Scientist...’
He instinctively sized Erica up but found no inhuman traits.
’Normally, don’t mad scientists love to install some ’tech’ on themselves?’
’Like replacing an arm with that of a Magic Beast for greater Power.’
’Or adding a few tails or tentacles to their back.’
’But Erica looked completely normal.’
