Chapter 210 The Dog at King's Cross Station
The next day, the blizzard that had raged all night finally subsided a bit, but snowflakes were still swirling outside the window.
The snow on the ground was about a foot thick, and your whole foot would sink in when you stepped on it.
They trudged through the grounds, one step at a time, until they reached Hogsmeade Station outside the school.
The crimson Hogwarts Express was already waiting at the platform.
"Lee Jordan has already reserved a box, we can go together," Fred said with a smile when he found Celen on the platform. "We were just looking for you."
"Looking for me?" Siren asked. "What's up?"
"What's the matter?" George repeated Siron's words in an exaggerated tone.
"Did you forget something important, like a collaboration?" George walked up from behind.
"Or are you planning to give us your share of the money as a Christmas present?"
"I've already prepared your Christmas presents," Celen said. "But didn't we agree to split the money once a month? It's not time yet, is it?"
"That's true," George said, "but have you forgotten about the Christmas holidays? We won't be at school during that time, so we won't be selling anything."
"That's true." Xilun nodded.
Upon arriving at Lee Jordan's private room, Fred immediately handed a heavy bag to Siron, while simultaneously looking up and covering his eyes with a pained expression.
"Take it away right now, don't let me see it again!"
"Of course, as you wish." Siren smiled, putting the bag away, and asked, "What are your plans for the Christmas holidays?"
"Let's keep working on quick-acting skip-class candy," George said. "We have a new idea, what do you think about making something like the tongue or teeth bigger?"
"Hmm, not a bad idea."
"That's what we think too."
The group chatted and laughed, and played a game of "slap-the-deck" cards for a while. When the witch pushing the food cart came over, they realized it was already noon.
Xilun said he would treat everyone to lunch, buying a large lunch for each person.
"Olivendine is our king!" the three shouted excitedly, their voices so loud that they could be heard from the front of the car.
As evening approached, the train finally arrived at the station.
They crossed the partition wall at Platform 9 and arrived at King's Cross Station.
The surrounding area was filled with a noisy crowd, but no one seemed to notice that a few people had just come out from behind a wall.
"It's Mom and Dad, they've come to pick us up," Fred said, pointing to two people in the crowd.
Mrs. Weasley, being plump, is quite recognizable, and Mr. Weasley's red hair is also very noticeable.
Percy and Ginny had already come out and were standing next to them talking.
Siren stepped forward and greeted them, and Mr. Weasley offered to give Siren a ride back to Diagon Alley on his way.
"Don't worry, it's really on the way," Mr. Weasley said. "We'll be going through Charing Cross Road on our way home anyway, and I borrowed a car from the Ministry of Magic. It's spacious, so there's no need to worry about not having enough room."
The entrance to the Leaky Cauldron is on Charing Cross Road, right between the Burrow and King's Cross Station.
Xilun thought for a moment and was about to agree when he looked up and saw a black dog sitting next to the partition wall where he had just come from.
Such a large black dog was really too conspicuous. While Siron was still in a daze, staff from King's Cross Station came to chase it away.
"Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Weasley, but I have some other things to attend to and may not be able to go back with you. See you at Hogwarts after school starts." Sirren waved to Fred and George again before jogging through the crowd and finding the staff member at Platform Six.
"I'm sorry, sir, this is my dog."
"Yours?" The middle-aged man looked at Xilen suspiciously. "Yes." Xilen nodded, waved his hand, and said, "Come back here, you stupid dog!"
The black dog wobbled over to Xilun and lay down at his feet.
Upon seeing this, the man immediately believed it.
"Listen to me, next time you take it out, you'd better bring a leash."
"I will, sir," Siren said.
After finally managing to get rid of the station staff, the Weasleys had already left.
Xilun led the black dog out of the station, and the two remained silent on the way.
Since Garrick wouldn't be back for two days, they had no choice but to take the Knight Bus.
By the time we arrived at Diagon Alley, it was completely dark.
They caused a little trouble while passing by the Leaky Cauldron.
Sirius Black is the main character; the black dog is probably the most unpopular group in the wizarding world, and the Leaky Cauldron always has some strange customers.
When they saw Xilen leading a black dog into the bar, they immediately screamed and ran around the bar like headless flies, shouting, "Run! It's bad luck!"
The once lively Leaky Cauldron bar instantly descended into chaos.
Siren had to quicken his pace, jogging to the backyard, taking out his wand, tapping the third brick from the left on top of the trash can, and immediately going inside once the gate to Diagon Alley opened in the wall.
It wasn't until they entered the wand shop that Sirius finally turned around and looked at Sirius, who was squatting on the ground.
"How did you get here?"
The black dog stood up and immediately transformed back into its original form.
A middle-aged man who was emaciated and had disheveled hair.
"Of course, we'll take the train." Sirius's voice was hoarse. "The Hogwarts Express, it's so nostalgic—back in the day, it was the train I disliked the most, we secretly called it the Hogwarts Slow."
"That's not what I meant," Siren interrupted his reverie. "Harry's staying at Hogwarts for Christmas this year, right? Shouldn't you be at the school with him?"
Sirius's voice abruptly stopped. After a long while, he finally spoke, saying in a very soft voice, "He has friends, he doesn't need me to accompany him."
Looking at his expression, Xilun seemed to guess what was going on and asked, "You don't want to see the hatred he shows, do you?"
Sirius didn't say anything, which was taken as tacit agreement.
"Why bother?" Siren shook his head. "If he didn't know—"
"He'll find out eventually," Sirius said. "And he should know."
"But you know perfectly well that's not the truth," Siron said.
"In a sense, that's the truth. I really did kill James and Lily because I suggested changing the Secret Agent at the last minute!"
Sirius should be heartbroken right now, but his expression is surprisingly calm, with only his eyes staring blankly ahead.
"So you came to find me?" Xilun still didn't understand. "The Forbidden Forest is so big, couldn't you have just found somewhere to stay?"
"Wherever I am in the Forbidden Forest, or anywhere near Hogwarts, I can't help but want to see Harry," Sirius said. "Only from here is far enough that no matter how much I want to see him, I can't get to Hogwarts right away."
That's a good reason, it's quite reasonable.
"Then how did you end up on the train?" Siren continued to ask.
"Professor Sprout was in charge of transporting the students this time," Sirius said. "She didn't recognize my Animagus transformation and just thought I was one of the students' pets."
