Chapter 450 Maggie's Unexpected Joy
Chapter 450 Maggie's Unexpected Joy
Zhou Yushi is a stingy person.
Della stayed at the Tang family's house until the end of August. After watching little Della cut off her soft and lovely hair after her 100-day celebration, she wanted some as a souvenir, but Zhou Yushi refused to give her a single strand.
Della threw a little tantrum, but Bellinda calmed her down with a photo album containing Della's handprints and footprints.
When I gave it to her, I was still smiling and saying, "I originally wanted the younger one to be as smart as the older one, but the older one has started to be childish like the younger one!"
Della laughed it off and returned to England with great satisfaction, carrying her goddaughter's photo.
Upon returning to the manor, she was summoned by Voldemort and learned that Maggie was to be engaged to Sheena.
Della rarely showed genuine surprise, but her pupils dilated the moment she heard the news.
Voldemort was pleased with Della's genuine surprise, which indicated that Maggie and Della weren't that close. He briefly instructed her to help prepare for the engagement party on October 15th before waving Della away.
When Voldemort mentioned the date October 15th, he paused for a moment. Della immediately noticed that this was a date after the start of the school term and not related to any holidays, meaning that Voldemort was telling her that she no longer needed to go to Hogwarts.
Indeed, Dumbledore is "dead," so even if Voldemort wanted to exile her, he wouldn't have a better excuse.
This guy really values power; is it a sign of an excessive desire for control?
Della silently cursed Voldemort in her heart, and after returning to Riddle Manor, she encountered another controlling monster worthy of her complaints.
Maggie was waiting for her in the reception room. When Della went in, he was standing outside the glass jar, observing the frost on Sadolin's lips.
"Can you tell me more information now?"
Della sighed and sat down on the sofa. One thing after another had left her with no energy. She casually waved her hand to make the teapot float in the air and start brewing tea automatically, in order to maintain the last bit of refinement.
“There’s only one thing I can talk about, the engagement. And I’m afraid you’ll be even busier,” Maggie said, striding across to sit opposite Della. “As a wizard who has fallen so low as to marry a Muggle, there are many people I’m no longer suitable to associate with.”
"Do you feel indignant about this?" Della asked, sensing Voldemort's intention to have the two Riddles fight.
“How could that be? They’re just ordinary bugs,” Maggie waved her hand dismissively. “It doesn’t matter where they gather; it’s just a matter of stepping on them a few more times.”
“That would be best, Vo—” Della was about to continue when Maggie interrupted her.
“Wait, this name can no longer be used,” Maggie raised her hand to stop her. “He’s dealt with this name, and everyone who uses it will be tracked.”
“How arrogant,” Della frowned and commented, continuing her original statement, “He told me to help you prepare for your engagement party, not only do I not need to go back to school, but he also wants you to watch me take over your power.”
“Can I ask for some token compensation?” Maggie chuckled, “like, let me stay here or something.”
To Maggie's surprise, Della did not immediately refuse this time.
"Where do you plan to hold your engagement party?" Della picked up the teapot and began to pour tea. "It would be safer for Sheena to stay here than anywhere else."
What an unexpected surprise.
Maggie thought to herself, "I never thought I'd get to benefit from Hina's influence." She immediately put on a worried expression and said, "Yes, this is the safest place. Once it involves me, people from both sides will be watching her."
"Have you talked to her about what to do about school?" Della pushed the tea she had poured for Maggie towards her.
“She’s taking a leave of absence, it’s already being processed, so it won’t affect her much. Many of her classmates take a gap year,” Maggie said, pulling her teacup closer to her. “Now I’ve moved into the small building I gave them, and of course, they each have their own room.”
“Nobody asked you that,” Della said, rolling her eyes in the steam as she held her teacup. “Why are you getting engaged, Maggie?”
She asked this crucial question.
Based on all that has happened so far, Della is certain that Maggie does not love Sheena and is consistently ruthless.
“She said she would die for me,” Maggie said, taking a sip of tea. “You know, Della, I have a hard time refusing romantic talk about death.”
"Just because of that?" Della paused in her tea-drinking, narrowing her eyes.
Maggie put down her teacup and shrugged, not quite seriously. "I don't know either, but since Sheena can't give me anything, I'm willing to marry her. I think there's at least some value in this 'willingness' to explore. I'm always open to exploring the unknown."
"You'll treat her well, won't you?" Della put down her teacup and sighed at Sheena's unpredictable fate.
“Of course, marriage is a contract, and my vows include loyalty, love and respect,” Maggie said calmly. “In fact, I’m even thinking about the future. I have to talk to Sheena about the children tonight.”
"You want children?" Della asked in surprise.
“I don’t want to, and I can’t have a child with Sheena. We have reproductive barriers,” Maggie explained to Della. “But it’s possible she wants one. If she insists, I’ll have to tell her that we can only have a child with the help of external forces.”
Della raised an eyebrow, looking Maggie up and down as if she were meeting him for the first time. "You're more committed to being a husband than I thought."
“There’s nothing surprising about it. I’m just respecting the contract,” Maggie said, picking up her teacup again. “It just so happens that the marriage contract includes requirements such as fidelity and honesty.”
Della nodded, accepting the answer.
The day after the conversation ended, Maggie moved back first, and then Sheena and her sister gradually moved their things in.
