Chapter 117 Watching the Show
"Chop it up, chop it even smaller."

Severus scooped a bite of pumpkin cheese tart with a small spoon and fed it to his mouth. "This stuff is so delicious!" he exclaimed, taking a couple of bites before giving Emeric a signal.
The adult's mindset is trapped in the child's body, and his behavior unconsciously becomes somewhat childish, with a significant decrease in self-control, because he would never have eaten egg tarts next to the work table before.

"Pour the medicine on the mouse and see how it works."
He swung the spoon, instructing Emeric to drip the collected medicine onto the live animal, his eyes fixed on the mouse to make sure he didn't miss any of its reactions.
I didn't realize how adorable he was. He was sitting in his high chair, one hand holding the plate obediently, and the other hand holding a small spoon, which he unconsciously put into his mouth.
"It's a success."
Finally, the large rat that had been given the potion shrank and became a small rat. This was their fourth potion of magic potion, and they had spent an entire afternoon finally deriving the entire formula.
"Severus, shall we go eat? It's 7:20 now, and if we don't eat dinner soon, it'll become a midnight snack."
Emeric's eyes lit up. He was starving; he hadn't eaten a single thing all afternoon, which was too cruel for him.
"Alright."
After becoming a child, Severus became less talkative, and his soft voice was completely out of character. He reached out his hand, asking Emeric to carry him downstairs and place him on the sofa to read.
Nothing went wrong at dinner because Emeric looked honest and didn't dare to do anything wrong, for fear that Severus would punish him by making him write two more papers.
By the time they finished packing, it was almost ten o'clock. The two of them returned to the bedroom, still half asleep. They stood at the door for a moment, then decided to go wash up first.
Goodnight, Severus.
After saying that, Emeric fell asleep immediately, and Severus wasn't much better off; he fell asleep almost the next second as well, he was also very sleepy.
The two slept until morning; if it weren't for Lucius's howling letter, they could have continued sleeping. The Malfoy family's owl kept knocking on the window until it woke them up.
"Believe it or not, I'll stew you!"
Emeric opened the window, caught the owl outside, and stared at it with ill intent. The poor little bird quickly dropped the letter from its lap; the red envelope clearly contained nothing good.
"Open it and take a look; he usually doesn't send shouting letters."
Severus, thinking something urgent had happened, stopped Emeric from setting the fire and gestured for him to dismantle it.
"Emerick, you promised to visit the manor yesterday! Where are you? Why didn't you come?"
Lucius's voice was filled with anger. Emeric scratched his head silently, finally remembering what he had forgotten yesterday. He had been so busy hugging Severus that he had completely forgotten about the dinner party that was waiting for him.
"You forgot it yourself, so deal with it yourself." Severus sneered. He knew very well how troublesome Lucius was, and America wouldn't get away without paying a price this time.
"Then I'll go out for a bit after dinner, and you can brew the antidote when I get back, okay?"
"Can."
Severus wasn't in a hurry. Anyway, no one would be coming to see him recently, and he didn't have anything to do that required him to go out. Watching the excitement was more important to him.
He was just waiting to see Emeric's pained expression when he came back. That little rascal would feel bad if he was cheated out of even a little money, even though he could earn a lot. He didn't know where his bad temper came from.
However, Severus was still very happy about it, especially when Dumbledore questioned him about why he had received so many gifts. It felt like drinking a sip of ice-cold lemonade on a hot day.
Little Severus was home alone with nothing to do, so Emeric, worried he'd be bored, stole Radish (a rabbit he'd picked up long ago) from the manor.
"How did it get so fat?" Severus used all his strength to finally lift the radish 5 centimeters off the ground.
"Uh...maybe it's because my father spoils me..." Emeric paused for a moment, then forced out this answer. He hadn't expected that in just one semester, the radish would grow from a small ball into a huge lump.
"Well, I'm leaving now. Severus, your and Radish's food is on the table. Remember to eat it at noon." He immediately slipped away after saying that. He didn't understand how his father could raise pigs so well. After all these years, his father was still as slim as ever.
The man and the rabbit left in the house exchanged a glance. Severus reached out and pulled the rabbit to sit on the sofa. He planned to read all morning. He brought the radish along simply to prevent it from chewing on the furniture. He really liked the new dining table and didn't want it to break.
On the other side, Malfoy Manor
Emeric emerged from the fireplace to find Lucius sitting opposite him, giving him a forced smile. He cleared his throat guiltily, preparing to offer a sweet word, but then glanced to the side and saw the pitiful Draco.
"I was wrong, please forgive me." The older one is easy to coax, but the younger one will cry, and if the younger one cries, the older one will get angry. Emerick felt that apologizing directly was faster and could save a step.
"Mr. Thaddeus, you're a man of high status, how could you be wrong? Don't be sad, little dragon, it's just that we're not worthy enough." Lucius's tone was sarcastic, his words dripping with sarcasm, aimed straight at Emeric's head.
"Brother Eli, have you really forgotten me?" Draco's voice was choked with sobs.
"?" Lucius was stunned. Why was his son crying so soon? He couldn't care less about being elegant and turned his head sharply to look at Draco.
Someone must have passed on their stupidity to Draco; how could Lucius Malfoy's son not understand? Lucius started shifting the blame, unable to believe his son was such a spoiled brat.
"Lucius Malfoy, what have you done? Why is Little Dragon crying?" Narcissa stood on the stairs, squinting at the people below.
"No, it wasn't me, Cecilia. It's because Emeric didn't come yesterday that Xiaolong is so sad."
Lucius forgot about denouncing Emeric and quickly explained to Narcissa that since they had been seen so many times, it wouldn't make a difference if he backed down one more time.
"Brother Ellie, let's hurry, let's go see the peacocks. Harry is waiting for us at the maze." Draco secretly pulled Emeric away, only to realize that he was faking crying to attract Narcissa's attention.
"When did you learn this move? How come I didn't know about it?"
"I learned my lesson from last time. If I hadn't run away just now, Dad would have nagged me for a very long time."
"Let's hurry, is Uncle really not going to chase after us?"
"No, Mom will help me deal with him. Mom also finds Dad too nagging."
A big question mark appeared above Emeric's head. He really wanted to know who had driven Lucius to this point, making him abandon elegance and choose to release his emotions through words. He would love to meet them if he had the chance.
