Angela Beach Resort & Spa Misura is a four-star beachfront resort that welcomes thousands of guests from around the world each year. The hotel is a beautiful sailboat-shaped building, and outside lies a kilometer-long white sand beach with stunning scenery and crystal-clear waters, allowing guests to play directly on the beach.
At this very moment, Chadwick Spencer, wearing sunglasses and shirtless, sat cross-legged on the beach, sunbathing and watching men and women swimming or playing in the water not far away. Many of them were tourists from the same travel agency as him.
"So, you're all from Bergoperi?" He asked with interest, gazing lazily at the distant sea as he struck up a conversation with a family who had set up a barbecue grill on the beach.
“Yes, we’re from Bergoperi, and we’re here on vacation together.” The young man who spoke was Oliver Quentin. Coincidentally, his and Pete’s family’s tour group had previously merged with Chadwick’s tour group from Rune. Or rather, the two groups were originally one tour group. The two groups of tourists from Rune and Lombard were originally scheduled to merge into one group on Misura Island, and then be led by a local guide for a series of tours.
Oliver, Pitt, Pitt's mother Eleanor, and Pitt's sister Joanna were not there for tourism. They had come to lay low after making a fortune selling a major news story. Therefore, when introducing themselves, they didn't mention their original hometown, but instead identified themselves as being from Bergopelli.
This is because Bergopelli is only a little over an hour's drive from their hometown, the accents are similar, and they are familiar with Bergopelli's environment, making it less likely they would give themselves away. To be on the safe side, they even claimed to be a family; Oliver claimed to be Pete's brother to mislead others.
Originally, the four of them had been acting alone, and were wary of the others. However, after two days, they realized that these tourists were just ordinary tourists and none of them looked like secret agents.
Furthermore, being ordinary people themselves, and with no unexpected incidents occurring as time went by, they gradually relaxed and began to truly enjoy their trip. Consequently, they started to interact with other tourists in the tour group.
When Chadwick learned that they were from Bergopelli, he became interested in talking to them. After all, he had been quite eager to visit Bergopelli, the legendary city closest to the Holy Lord, but he had never dared to go because he was worried about his unusual situation and feared that he might be arrested by some special department within the church. Now that he heard that this family was from Bergopelli, his interest was greatly aroused, and he began to chat with them with great interest.
“I’ve always wanted to go to Bergopelli, but I haven’t been able to. I’ve heard that the Great Library there has a huge collection of books?” Chadwick asked casually.
“That’s true. The Great Library is probably the largest library in the Western Continent right now, especially the religious books. I heard that you can even borrow some books from before the Renaissance, but you need a special library card to get that. I heard you need a letter of introduction to get it.” Oliver nodded as he answered, observing the young man who had supposedly just graduated from Rune St. Hearst Academy.
“Actually, it’s also a museum, not just a collection of books, especially religious artifacts,” Pete interjected.
“I really want to go and see it…” Chadwick sighed. He really wanted to visit the Bergoperry Library. He wanted to look for any documents about wizards or other supernatural beings, and he also wanted to examine the collection to see if he could make any special discoveries. After all, the Bergoperry Library's collection of religious books was probably the richest in the world, especially since it was said to hold many rare and ancient books, which was something he hoped to see.
After chatting with them for a while about Bergopelli's library and ancient sites, Chadwick began to talk about his experiences around the world. As someone who had explored the Izko rainforest of the Toltec Dominion in the Kingdom of Gasol in the New World, Chadwick's travel experience was actually very rich. He could easily recount his experiences and observations from his adventures, which the family listened to with great interest. Even Joanna looked at him with a hint of admiration.
"Mr. Spencer, do you often go on adventures to dangerous places?" Joanna asked excitedly as Chadwick casually recounted his close encounter with a giant python in the rainforest.
“Actually, no, that time I mainly wanted to explore the ruins. After all, that was my major in university,” Chadwick laughed, revealing a set of white teeth. Due to his frequent outdoor activities, Chadwick now has a tanned complexion, which is actually quite popular in Western high society. Ordinary people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds generally don't have much time or money for outdoor exercise, so their skin is usually quite pale. Therefore, some wealthy and leisurely people even use special tanning equipment to help them achieve a darker tan. Chadwick's skin tone and physique clearly indicate that he exercises outdoors regularly.
"So, Lu, did you come to Miju Sulaiman Island this time for some kind of adventure?" Oliver asked curiously, still somewhat wary of this young man named Rune who had approached him earlier.
“I do have that idea in mind; I’d like to visit the Kumbor ruins,” Chadwick nodded.
"Kumbor Ruins? What's that place?" Oliver and Pete exchanged a glance, both looking blank in each other's eyes. Clearly, they didn't know anything about it.
"This attraction isn't on the tour itinerary, is it?" Oliver asked curiously.
“Yes, the Kumbor site, which the local inhabitants call ‘the ancestral land blessed by the sea god.’ It is one of the oldest island civilization sites in the world,” Chadwick explained. “It’s just that it hasn’t been fully developed, so it’s not very well-known.”

Oliver was basically relieved after hearing this. It seemed that the rune in front of him was a traveler. Of course, he wasn't very interested in the ruins Chadwick mentioned.
Joanna, on the other hand, was full of interest, asking all sorts of questions, and seemed eager to join the adventure: "Mr. Spencer, when are you planning to set off?"
"Probably the day after tomorrow. I'll be spending the next two days with a tour group. I actually quite like the beach," Chadwick said with a smile. "After that, I'll leave the group and explore on my own."
"Then I wish you all the best," Pete said hastily, cutting off his sister's next words.
“Mr. Spencer, have a taste.” Pete’s mother, Eleanor, finished grilling a bunch of small seafood skewers and handed a few to Chadwick.
Chadwick hadn't originally planned to bring this family along. After all, going on an adventure with laymen would mean he'd have to act as their caregiver, which would be both troublesome and exhausting. Besides, he had his own purpose in going, and it wasn't convenient for him to reveal his own secrets.
"Thank you." He thanked her politely, then took the squid tentacles skewer from Eleanor and began to eat.
The conversation then turned to the taste and grilling techniques of the skewers.
After a while, Chadwick politely greeted the family, then stood up, preparing to go for a swim in the sea…
After Chadwick left, Pete frowned and glanced at his sister: "Joanna, don't talk too much to strangers. Don't forget why we came out here."
"I just think that the place he mentioned is really interesting..." Qiao Menganna wrinkled her nose and snorted unhappily, but she didn't refute it.
“Pete, Aunt Eleanor, I think everything looks normal here, and we should be able to stay here for a while without worry,” Oliver said in a low voice, looking around.
“I think it’s pretty good too… Moreover, these past two days, I’ve heard that some media outlets have started attacking Mr. Lancaster’s Truth Reporting website, and some members of parliament from various countries have alleged that he stole state secrets and disrupted the market…” Pete glanced at the beach not far away: “I feel like the rumors about this are getting stronger and stronger.”
