“Yes, I haven’t finished my business at the Clock Tower yet. As for you, have you submitted your thesis to the review committee?” Zouken Matou replied casually.
"No, it's still being polished. I plan to submit it in two months." Weber scratched his head and said somewhat awkwardly, after all, he had been full of confidence just a few days ago.
As the two talked, the clock tower gradually came into view.
As soon as the two stepped into the clock tower, a group of magicians surrounded them. The leader was a woman who was about 1.6 meters tall, with a flaxen ponytail and eyes that matched her hair color.
She wore a holy robe made of mithril and held a magical costume resembling a riding whip.
"Vampire, is this the one you want to see 'Jewel Elder'?" The newcomer asked bluntly, blocking Zouken Matou's path.
"Lord Bartholomew, I haven't fallen into the clutches of the Dead Apostle yet," Zouken Matou said with a wry smile as he looked at the person who had come before him.
"But what difference is there between you and a vampire now? Zorgen, you've fallen to this state in just two hundred years," the woman continued sarcastically.
Zouken Matou remained silent, while Waver had already fled in terror.
"What exactly do you want to see 'Jewel Elder' about?" Seeing that Zouken Matou did not answer, the woman continued with the previous question.
"I'll have to wait until I communicate with the 'Jewel Elder' to find out," Zouken Matou said, avoiding the question.
"The association has lost contact with 'Gemstone Elder'! Otherwise, why do you think I'd be here talking to you?"
Chapter 10 "Zouken Matou's Gift"
"You've probably noticed the large number of Warcraft appearing in reality lately, haven't you?" Zouken Matou changed the subject, moving on to something else that seemed unimportant.
"You mean to say that the disappearance of the 'Gemstone Elder' is related to this?"
"Perhaps." Zouken Matou nodded and said:
"The disappearance of 'Jewel Elder' may be a clue to this situation. We need to find him."
"You came to see 'Jewel Elder' just because of this?" Barthemello continued to ask, his sharp eyes fixed on Matou Zouken.
"That's all." Zouken Matou was unwilling to elaborate and left the conversation there.
......
Matou Ike's left hand, which was holding the insect, suddenly trembled, as if it had sensed something.
"Has it finally arrived?" he murmured to himself.
A burning pain appeared on the back of my left hand, and red lines gradually appeared.
The lines intertwined on his skin to form a strange pattern resembling the Holy Grail.
The three sacred marks, like mysterious imprints, were deeply engraved on his skin, as if telling a story of destiny.
"Is this my Command Seal?" he murmured to himself, his fingers gently touching the patterns, feeling the heat and power emanating from them.
"All that's missing is the Sacred Relic." Matou Ike couldn't help but think of Matou Zouken.
Matou Ike learned from intelligence from the Japanese aviation system that Matou Zouken had gone to Germany, then to England, and finally to Iceland within two months.
"Judging by the time, he should have already returned to Fuyuki. So where is he now?"
Matou Ike begins contacting the familiar hiding at Fuyuki Airport and learns that Matou Zouken has gone to Ryudouji Temple.
"Why would Ryudou Temple, one of the three major sites of the Greater Grail's descent, be going there? Could it be that he also discovered something wrong with the Greater Grail?"
With this question in mind, he decided to go to Ryudou Temple in person to find out why Matou Zouken was there.
Ryudou Temple is located on Mount Enzo in Fuyuki, and beneath it lies the largest of Fuyuki's four major spiritual veins, where the Greater Grail system was established.
As night fell, Ryudong Temple was enveloped in tranquility.
Moonlight filters through the gaps in the branches and leaves, casting dappled shadows that make the ancient buildings appear desolate and mysterious.
In the quiet of the night, Matouike quietly arrived at Ryudou Temple and cast spells on herself that granted her the ability to conceal her presence and hide her form.
Stepping into the courtyard of the Matouchi Pond, all around was quiet, with only the sound of the breeze rustling through the leaves echoing in the night.
As you walk step by step along the stone path to the Medicine Buddha Hall of Ryudong Temple, the Medicine Buddha Hall, which should be brightly lit by candles, is now shrouded in darkness.
Only the moonlight shone on the palace roof, casting eerie silhouettes.
Carefully pushing open the door of the Yakushi-do Hall, Matou Ike entered a tranquil sanctuary. Bathed in moonlight, the Yakushi-do Hall appeared even more secluded.
His gaze wandered throughout the hall, and he noticed that the candles in front of the Buddha statue had long since burned out, but no monks had replaced them.
With a sudden thought, Matouchi sent out all the demonic worms on his body, instructing them to search for traces of living people.
With the arrival of the demonic worms, Matou Ike had become fully aware of the situation within Ryudou Temple, but he had not found Matou Zouken. The lecture hall, abbot's quarters, Dharma hall, and pagoda were all empty, and all the monks of Ryudou Temple were fast asleep in their burlesques.
Faced with this situation, Matou Ike's doubts deepened.
He knew there was only one place left to search: the great hollow beneath Ryudong Temple—the Dragon Cave. The rock surface of this cave was engraved with enormous magic circles; the Holy Grail system, the true core of the Holy Grail War, was established here.
As Matou Ike pondered whether to dive down, Matou Zouken's voice suddenly rang out: "Ike, come out."
Before anyone knew it, Zouken Matou had appeared in the center of the courtyard, his gaze fixed on the direction of the Yakushido Hall, where Matou Pond was located.
Seeing that Zouken Matou had seen through his disguise, Matou Ike canceled the magic he was using and revealed his true form.
"How did you find out about me?" Matou Ike asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Ike, you don't really think I haven't left anything on you for sensing, do you?" Zouken Matou's voice was calm and firm, carrying a hint of warning.
"So what are you doing here? What do you want to do at the place where the Greater Grail descended?" Matou Ike asked directly.
"What I want to do is none of your business, Chi. Your main concern right now is to deal with the upcoming Holy Grail War, not to inquire about my affairs."
Zouken Matou declined to answer the question, seemingly not intending to reveal much.
“This is one of the places where the Holy Grail descended. As a member of the Matou family, I have an obligation to know that you have come here to do some shady things, Grandpa.”
Ignoring Zouken's words, Matou Ike continued to press for answers.
At the same time, Matou Ike moved closer and closer to Matou Zouken, since this was not an insect room and Matou Zouken had no way to fight back.
He's now openly trying to intimidate Zouken Matou.
Matou Ike quickened his pace, relentlessly closing in on Matou Zouken, displaying a clear threat to him.
However, Zouken Matou was not swayed by Ike Matou's actions. Instead, he shook his head slightly, a hint of disapproval in his eyes.
Then, his figure flickered, transformed into a swarm of insects, and disappeared from the spot.
An eerie atmosphere lingered in the air, and Matou Ike fell into a brief silence.
Just then, a voice suddenly rang out, breaking the silence: "Chi, remember to come back soon, I brought you a gift."
Watching Matou Zouken transform into an insect and flee, Matou Ike let out a sigh of relief, feeling somewhat helpless.
He turned and walked toward the location of the "Kuri" at Ryudong Temple.
At Ryudou-ji Temple, the sleeping monks have become the new focus of attention at Matou Pond. If the slumbering spell cast on them is not lifted in time, it may take several days for them to wake up on their own.
He then decided to lift the monks' slumber to prevent the unusual situation at Ryudong Temple from being leaked.
Therefore, he decided to personally take charge of the final cleanup work for Matou Zouken.
Using his magical skills, he touched their foreheads one by one, slowly dispelling the dormant magical energy from their bodies.
As each monk's drowsiness was broken, they gradually regained consciousness. Some were confused upon waking, while others were puzzled by their state.
After some effort, the unusual situation at Ryudong Temple was resolved.
Matouchi glanced around the temple, and after confirming that everything was safe, he slowly left the ancient temple.
......
Matou Ike returned to the Matou family home, pondering the events of the day and the "gift" that Matou Zouken had mentioned.
Matou Ike arrived at his study, the place he usually used to think about problems and study magic.
He sat down at his desk, looked around, and saw a faint aroma of incense filling the room. Various ancient books were displayed on the bookshelves, and everything seemed so familiar.
But there are also things that are different from usual.
The solid wood desk is engraved with a magical mark that emits a faint glow.
This magical mark must have been left by Zouken Matou.
He reached out and gently touched the mark, pondering the information it contained.
Matou Ike decided to immerse herself in her own magic in order to better understand the information within.
He closed his eyes, concentrated, and began to infuse his magic into the magic imprint.
As magic was infused, the magic mark vibrated slightly, and its light became even brighter.
Matou Ike sensed a peculiar power surging within the magic mark, as if a mysterious connection was being established.
As magic was poured in, Matou Ike discovered that it was a rune used for sealing.
Zouken Matou must have sealed something inside this desk, perhaps the gift he mentioned.
Matou Ike had seen these sealing runes in the magic book at home. He only needed to inject magic power according to the arrangement of the runes to break the seal.
As his magic power flowed in continuously, the magic imprint began to undergo subtle changes. The previously static runes began to flicker, emitting a dazzling light.
A vessel filled with golden sheepskin appeared before him.
Chapter 11 "Premature Summoning"
There are three months left until the Holy Grail War begins.
Matouchi took a deep breath. They stood in the insect pod, looking around at the dark, deep-sea-like world. The stench of decay and sour, watery vapor filled the air, making them feel uneasy.
"Are you sure you want to summon a Servant now?" Matou Zouken stood to the side, confirming with Matou Ike once again, showing a hint of doubt.
Chi, who was at the center of the ceremony, nodded in response, his gaze firm and resolute.
“Summoning Servants before the Greater Grail is completely full is not a good idea.” Zouken Matou seemed to disagree, his tone revealing his concern about the potential risks.
“I don’t intend to summon a class like the Three Knights. Even if the Holy Grail isn’t full, it’s enough for me to summon Caster.” Matou Ike remained noncommittal about this, displaying confidence and determination, seemingly unconcerned about insufficient mana.
“Insufficient magic power might summon a defective one,” Zouken Matou reminded Ike Matou again, trying to make him think twice before acting.
However, Matou Ike did not hesitate, knowing his own abilities and decisiveness. With a gentle wave of his hand, he began to activate the magic circle at the center of the ritual, preparing to summon the Servant.
