Chapter 30 Tracing the Origins
Chapter 30 Tracing the Origins
The place the two came to was an early production base of the Paradise Group. Later, with the adjustment of production capacity layout, the old production lines were eliminated, and a new production base was established in the industrial park. This place was then transformed into a finished product warehousing, transfer and distribution center.
This time, in order to shoot the GG (Gift) for the new product, the Park Group transformed a warehouse into a photography studio. In addition to meeting the requirements of several GG production companies such as Purple Fox Media, it also took into account the long-term needs of the group's development.
Fast-moving consumer goods companies are highly dependent on GG, and theme parks invest heavily in this area every year. Even without new products being launched, GG constantly needs to innovate.
Purple Fox Media was the last to complete the previous four GG shoots. The sets and equipment used in those shoots are still in their original state, which saved a lot of preparation time for this reshoot.
Lu Jiaqi had given Ji Cheng her license plate number beforehand, which allowed her to enter the main gate directly, but she needed someone to pick her up before she could enter the photography studio.
Ji Cheng received Lu Jiaqi's call and soon arrived at the door. He warmly led the two inside and gave them some instructions—all aimed at not interfering with the filming process, nothing particularly special.
Lu Jiaqi was a complete novice when it came to filming GG, and there wasn't much she could do to help on set. She was there primarily to represent Zhiwei's position and also to act as a liaison.
Ji Cheng was fully aware of this, so naturally he couldn't possibly arrange any work for her.
As for Wei Hongsi, a purely technical person, it's even less likely he'll do any manual work. He's probably using work as a pretext to follow his idol, but that's not important; given his personality, he's unlikely to act like a brainless fan. Since we're friends, we should at least offer him this small favor.
As Wei Hongsi listened to Ji Cheng's introduction, he also looked around at the surroundings. After Ji Cheng finished speaking, he asked, "Mr. Ji, may I take some photos?"
Ji Cheng said, "That requires their consent. Perhaps I should discuss it with Shen Qing's agent later?"
Wei Hongsi thought to himself that celebrities are indeed quite sensitive about this kind of thing, but Shen Qing didn't necessarily have to be photographed. So he said, "If it's too much trouble, then forget it. I only want to take some photos of the set design and lighting, which I want to use as material for analysis. I guarantee they won't be leaked. Is that alright?"
"That's nothing. Anyway, the promotion for the new product will be fully launched tomorrow. You posting a short video might even help us generate some buzz," Ji Cheng said with a smile. "When Peng Jun was filming here before, no one was allowed to take pictures. They confiscated all phones and cameras as soon as you entered."
He also thought Wei Hongsi was just young and shy, and that this statement was purely to cover up his embarrassment.
With permission, Wei Hongsi slowly strolled along the edge of the shooting area to find the right angle.
This must be a break after filming a take; Lao Huang is directing people to adjust the set and lighting. On his worktable is a tablet computer displaying a frozen video frame.
Old Huang kept glancing at the viewfinder and then at the tablet, clearly making adjustments based on the reference. So, the only option he could use as a reference was Plan B. At his shooting method, replicating more than 80% of the original's appearance shouldn't be difficult.
Wei Hongsi took a few more steps toward Lao Huang when he suddenly heard two deliberate coughs. He turned around and saw a woman in her mid-thirties, who looked very capable and was looking at him with a wary gaze.
Sitting on the folding chair next to the woman was a girl of about twenty-three or twenty-four years old. She had an oval face, fair skin, and delicate features, but her eyes were a little dull, probably because she was nearsighted by about 300 degrees.
Wei Hongsi knew that this must be Shen Qing and her agent. Perhaps he was blocking their view, so he said, "Excuse me," and quickly passed by them to Lao Huang's worktable.
Old Huang glanced at Wei Hongsi, then acted as if he didn't exist and continued to direct the staff to work.
After another ten minutes or so of work, Lao Huang gave a thumbs-up to the front and shouted, "OK! Set designers, leave!" Then he walked over to Shen Qing's agent and said, "Teacher Tang, we're ready."
While Lao Huang was away, Wei Hongsi took a few steps forward and stood behind the camera, taking several photos with his phone in the direction of the lens.
Old Huang turned around and saw this scene, and was stunned for a moment, not understanding what the kid was doing. He turned to look at Ji Cheng and saw that Ji Cheng was giving a thumbs up, so it seemed that he was from the client's side.
He turned around and saw that Wei Hongsi had already stepped back, so he didn't say anything and went to walk behind the camera.
Wei Hongsi stood in a place where he wouldn't disturb others and quietly observed.
He filmed two takes of this scene, but couldn't figure out what was going on. The lighting and shadows varied greatly depending on the angle, so even if Shen Qing's side allowed filming, the footage wouldn't be of much value. Only the footage from Old Huang's camera was suitable for analysis and comparison.
Wei Hongsi was somewhat surprised by Shen Qing's change.
I saw her sitting on a folding chair before, looking adorably dazed, like a quiet girl next door.
But when she stands in front of the camera, she immediately gives off a completely different feeling. Especially when she sings, she exudes an extremely powerful aura, as if she were the ruler of that stage.
After careful observation, Wei Hongsi confirmed that Shen Qing's change was not due to a split personality, but rather a dynamic balance between introverted and extroverted traits.
Such people usually have a clear sense of self, can separate different personality roles through psychological boundaries, do not experience identity confusion, and have extremely strong psychological resilience.
After this shot was filmed, there was another break and adjustment period.
Wei Hongsi walked to the rest area outside the filming location and sat down next to Ji Cheng and Lu Jiaqi.
Ji Cheng handed him a bottle of beverage: "This is our new product, please try it."
Wei Hongsi took it and looked at the ingredient list. It contained no caffeine, taurine, or alcohol. In recent years, out of self-discipline as a mental patient, he had never ingested anything that would excite or inhibit the central nervous system.
I unscrewed the cap and took a sip. It was slightly sweet at first, with a slightly sour aftertaste, making for a rather unique flavor.
"The flavor is unique, and the taste is quite refreshing," Wei Hongsi gave a fairly objective review.
Although the evaluation was brief, Ji Cheng was very pleased to hear it.
Does a beverage with a retail price of 5 yuan have to give you a feeling of being overwhelmed with joy and floating on air?
As a beverage primarily targeting the summer market, the company aims to establish a market foundation with its refreshing taste and create a differentiated competitive advantage with its unique flavor. This is precisely the original intention of the Paradise Group in launching this product.
