Raphael breathed a slight sigh of relief when he saw Miss Sharon show her face.
It seems that Miss Sharon is at least a Sequence 5, because Raphael remembers that the name of the Sequence 5 potion in the "Prisoner" pathway is "Wraith". The abilities that Miss Sharon has shown are at least at the Sequence 5 level.
Raphael lit a cigarette and took a puff: "The members of the 'Temperance Faction' are in place. I hope the 'Indulgence Faction' won't keep me waiting too long."
Then he began to think about another question: Where to find the primary material or extraordinary property of the "Criminal" pathway Sequence 8?
The white jade bead gave Raphael two potion recipes: one was for Sequence 6 "The Living Corpse," and the other was for Sequence 8 "The Fallen Angel," which was from an adjacent pathway.
This move is incredibly thoughtful; Raphael only needs to find the main material or the corresponding extraordinary property.
The four auxiliary materials for advancing to "Fallen Angel" are easy to obtain; you can basically buy them by going to a herbalist shop. However, the two main materials are difficult to buy in a short period of time.
Money is a minor issue compared to other things. The two main ingredients each cost around 300 pounds. Although Raphael doesn't have that much cash, he can steal or rob, and he can quickly raise the money.
Raphael had already considered this: as long as the amount involved in each crime was less than 100 pounds, and the crimes were only committed when necessary, they would generally not attract the attention of the officials.
Raphael stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray. Even if he had the money, given the extraordinary gatherings he could access, it would take him two or three months to gather the two main materials.
Although he has now reconnected with Audrey, the matter of being a dual-path extraordinary is Raphael's greatest reliance and secret. He does not intend to let Miss Hall and the organization behind her know that he is acquiring the main materials or extraordinary characteristics of the "criminal" path.
Thinking of this, a sinister smile suddenly appeared on Raphael's face. He planned to attack the extraordinary one who had sold him the "criminal" potion formula.
Raphael obtained the "Criminal's" potion recipe at a gathering of extraordinary beings. He carefully observed the person selling the recipe at the time, and he saw that person several times at subsequent gatherings.
He used the ability attached to the white jade bead to examine the other party, who was a "low sequence" extraordinary individual, most likely a Sequence 8 of the "criminal" pathway.
Even if it's not an extraordinary individual from the "criminal" pathway, obtaining an extraordinary trait from the Sequence 8 pathway is still a decent income.
However, we'll have to wait until after this battle is over to discuss this matter.
Raphael snapped out of his reverie and ordered his men to buy him two Dipsy pies for dinner.
Dipsy Pie was one of the few foods Raphael approved of after his time travel, and it tasted similar to the meat pie he remembered.
He originally wanted four, and two for Miss Sharon as well, but then he realized: how should he give them to her?
Should we hang it on the glass case of the clock with a rope? Or should we place an offering table in front of the glass case and light three incense sticks? But if we do that, the offerings would only be two pies, which would be too meager.
In the end, Raphael realized that the "vengeful spirit" might not need to eat. Even if Miss Sharon wanted to have dinner, she could simply "float" to the hotel's kitchen and eat whatever she wanted there.
Raphael waited until very late, but the "Indulgence Faction" members did not appear. It seemed that they had just begun their investigation and might not find this place until tomorrow.
He returned to his apartment as usual.
He had already had the living room tidied up, furnished with new furniture, and covered the scratches on the walls with wallpaper.
Raphael didn't turn on the lights immediately. He looked at the dimly lit apartment and hesitated for a moment. He didn't know if Miss Sharon had come with him.
At this moment, Sharon seemed to notice Raphael's hesitation, so her figure flashed by in the standing mirror by the door.
Raphael's eyes twitched. The dimly lit room and the fleeting shadow in the mirror made him feel as if he had stepped into a horror novel!
Taking a deep breath, Raphael calmed himself down. With Miss Sharon around, he could finally rest easy.
However, he slept very poorly that night, constantly dreaming of a beautiful female ghost standing at the head of his bed, quietly watching him.
The next day, Raphael arrived at the Mafia headquarters, yawning, and greeted the visitors as usual, instructing his subordinates to handle the matters that arose.
As night fell, Raphael, carrying a long backpack, returned to his apartment smoking. There were few pedestrians on the road, and Backlund's famous fog once again enveloped the streets, making everything around him look somewhat unreal.
Under the dim streetlights, he noticed that the way the two homeless men walking in front of him was a bit strange, so he took another look.
Because the new law does not allow homeless people to sleep in parks and main streets, they have to keep moving around after nightfall.
But they walked very slowly, conserving their energy as much as possible.
But these two homeless men were walking unsteadily, which must have been very tiring.
Immediately afterwards, Raphael saw that one of the two homeless men walking towards him had one of his eyeballs suddenly pop out.
However, the "homeless man" reacted quickly, grabbing his own eyeballs and pressing them back into their sockets.
Raphael stood there, cigarette in hand, stunned. "What the hell!"
He then realized that it was most likely the "indulgence faction" who had come, and that the two "vagrants" were probably two living corpses.
"Ha, I've heard you're pretty crazy, afraid of ghosts?" The voice came from behind, its tone icy.
Raphael turned around abruptly, and in the thin mist behind him, a pale-faced man, devoid of any sign of life, was staring at him with dead eyes.
Raphael tossed away his cigarette butt: "Are you Bevin's companion?"
"That's right." The other person coldly surveyed Raphael's surroundings. "Clearly, you already know about Bevan's death."
To prevent "psychic" communication from official extraordinary individuals, members of the clandestine organizations at the lower levels typically use single-line communication to build a network of peripheral organizations.
Therefore, the "liberals" did not know that Bevan died when he went to see Raphael; they only knew that the other party was already dead, and that, judging from the scene, it looked like he had been shot.
"Yes, I know," Raphael said calmly. "We had arranged to meet, but when I arrived at the meeting place, he was already dead."
As he spoke, he took off his backpack: "I found this at the scene..."
The "living corpse" from the "Indulgence Faction" had noticed that Raphael's spirituality was somewhat unstable, and he asked warily, "What is that?"
Raphael unzipped his backpack and took out a somewhat bulky submachine gun: "A gun, and a new type of submachine gun at that."
The "zombie" stepped forward, realizing that this was most likely the weapon that had killed Bevan: "Bring it here so I can take a look."
"Okay, okay." Raphael took out another magazine: "Let me show you how to use it. You see, just put the magazine in like this and release the safety."
Then, the "zombie" saw Raphael pull the trigger.
