Chapter 60 Reorganizing the Team
Chapter 60 Reorganizing the Team
Yan Shuo's expression softened slightly upon hearing this.
He paused for a moment, then asked, "Who are you going to use these things for?"
"These are for intelligence agents on the front lines. Several missions require them to infiltrate enemy territory, and they need these devices to disguise their identities," Chen Gengwen quickly explained, afraid that Yan Shuo would be angry.
Yan Shuo pondered for a moment, then nodded and said, "Since it's for intelligence agents to use on missions, I can give you a few sets. But you must remember that there are specific ways to use these devices. You must use a special solution when removing them, otherwise it will damage your skin."
As he spoke, he took a small box out of his pocket and handed it to Chen Gengwen: "Inside are three doses for men, two doses for women, and corresponding special medicine and instructions for use. You have to have my men released, and this is yours."
Chen Gengwen took the box, both surprised and delighted, and quickly nodded, "No problem! I'll have someone release them right now!"
"In addition," Yan Shuo added, "considering that other intelligence agents may also need it, I will arrange for someone to send a batch to headquarters, including twenty doses for men, twenty doses for women, twenty doses for white men, twenty doses for white women, and the corresponding medicine."
At this point, he changed the subject, his tone tinged with helplessness: "But I have to make it clear to you, these things are very expensive to produce, and I've run out of funds. This is what I have left. If you need more in the future, have headquarters transfer the funds first, otherwise forget about it."
Chen Gengwen hurriedly bowed and agreed, "No problem! Brother Yan, don't worry, I'll send someone to return your men intact right away! I'll definitely convey your message to headquarters word for word! Thank you for your leniency, Brother Yan, thank you for showing mercy!"
Yan Shuo glanced at him sideways, the coldness in his eyes undiminished, his tone as cold as ice: "Don't give me that. Go release my people now, not a minute less. Also, remember two things: you're not allowed to mess with me again, and you're not allowed to do those dirty things in the office again. If I catch you bullying your own people again, next time it won't be as simple as a slap."
"I won't dare again! I'll never dare again!" Chen Gengwen nodded his head vigorously, cold sweat streaming down his face.
Yan Shuo withdrew the gun from his waist, turned and walked towards the alley entrance, leaving behind only a cold sentence: "If any of my men lose a single hair or suffer the slightest injustice, I will hold you accountable first."
As Yan Shuo's figure disappeared completely at the alley entrance, Chen Gengwen's legs went weak, and he collapsed to the ground with a "thud." His clothes on the back were already soaked with cold sweat, and even his breathing was trembling.
A few hours later, the sky gradually darkened, and the afterglow of the setting sun shone into the room through the window.
The four intelligence agents who had been captured by the Shanghai station intelligence team stood timidly in front of Yan Shuo, their clothes disheveled and their faces still showing signs of shock. Their eyes were filled with guilt and unease.
"Captain, we've caused you trouble..." One of the tall, thin intelligence officers said in a trembling voice, lowering his head and not daring to look Yan Shuo in the eye.
Yan Shuo remained silent, only his gaze sweeping over them with a deep intensity.
Before he could speak, footsteps sounded outside the door, and seventeen intelligence agents, both men and women, entered one after another. They all had solemn expressions, clearly having already heard the news.
The atmosphere in the room instantly became oppressive.
Yan Shuo's gaze slowly swept across the faces of the twenty-one people, finally settling on three of them.
The three men's eyes darted around, avoiding eye contact, their hands unconsciously clenching, their expressions extremely flustered.
"You three, come out here." Yan Shuo's voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable authority.
The three people shuddered and slowly emerged from the crowd, their legs trembling.
The intelligence agents around them also sensed something was wrong and held their breath. The room was so quiet that they could hear each other's heartbeats.
Yan Shuo pulled out a silenced pistol from his waist and, without saying a word, fired three shots into the chests of the three men.
The dull thud of a bullet entering flesh was low, yet it struck everyone's heart like a heavy hammer.
Zhou Lie stood to the side, a slight smirk playing on his lips, a hint of apprehension flashing in his eyes, but he dared not utter a word. He simply waved his hand and shouted towards the door, "Take them out and clean them up properly, leave no trace!"
The two newlyweds outside immediately came in, picked up the three corpses, and hurriedly left.
The other eighteen intelligence agents in the room were trembling with fear, their faces pale.
No one expected that Yan Shuo would kill the man without saying a word, his actions were swift and ruthless, and his presence was extremely intimidating.
"Captain...they..." A short-haired female intelligence officer couldn't help but ask in a low voice, but was interrupted by Yan Shuo's gaze before she could finish speaking.
Yan Shuo didn't explain, but simply called out to the inner room, "Zhiyao, come out."
As soon as she finished speaking, Li Zhiyao came out of the inner room, followed by four groups of new female students, each carrying an enamel basin.
"Coming." Li Zhiyao responded softly, placing the basins on the table one by one. Then she walked to the eighteen people and pulled out five of them—four men and one woman. "You five come here first and wash your faces by the basins."
"Wash your face? Captain, what are we supposed to do..." A round-faced male intelligence officer looked confused.
"Don't ask any more questions, just do as I say." Yan Shuo said calmly.
The five people dared not hesitate any longer and went to the basin to wash their faces.
After washing for a couple of seconds, Li Zhiyao took out five portions of clear medicine, poured them into five basins, stirred them, and said, "Keep washing, make sure your face is clean."
The five people continued washing as instructed, and after a short while, someone exclaimed, "Hey? What's this? Why is my face all sticky?"
"My face seems to be changing..." The other person panicked and reached out to touch it. The artificial skin mask on his face slowly melted into paste, revealing his original face.
"Wow, this potion is amazing!" an intelligence officer watching nearby couldn't help but exclaim.
"Keep washing, wash away all the remaining paste, and remove the patches from your throat and chest as well," Yan Shuo instructed.
When his gaze fell on the female intelligence officer, he deliberately turned around and said to the others, "Turn around, everyone, and watch your step."
Everyone turned around, and all that could be heard inside was the sound of rushing water.
After the five people were thoroughly cleaned, Li Zhiyao turned and went back into the house. She quickly came out carrying a wooden box, followed by the new female recruits, each carrying their own set of tools. "Come on, one by one, I'll put new voice patches and masks on you."
The first male intelligence officer to step forward looked at the gossamer-thin mask in Li Zhiyao's hand and asked curiously, "Sister Li, this new mask is much thinner than the previous one. Won't it be uncomfortable to wear?"
"No, this is an improved version. It fits better and is more breathable, so it won't feel stuffy even after wearing it for a long time." Li Zhiyao explained as she put the mask on him, her movements skillful and efficient. "After it's on, I'll test the voice to make sure it matches the identity on the mask."
