Chapter 2586
Chapter 2586
The mountain collapsed?
Harlan James raised his palm and struck; the fallen cliff instantly shattered, turning into a sky full of rubble.
A Golden Light Shield appeared around Harlan James’s body. He shot straight into the sky, and wherever he passed, rock and stone crumbled. Seen from afar, it was like a streak of Golden Light shooting up from underground, mountains collapsing and earth cracking in its wake.
As a Middle Grade Great Land Immortal, two collapsing peaks naturally couldn’t trap Harlan James.
In the blink of an eye, he broke through the fallen peaks and rushed toward the sky.
"Boom."
The last boulder was smashed to dust by the Golden Light. Harlan James’s eyes lit up, but the scene before him made his pupils suddenly contract.
An Eight-Armed Arhat taller than those towering mountains, feet planted on the earth, head against the Heavenly Dome, was glaring furiously right at him, its thick arms brandishing radiant Magic Artifacts, crazily hammering down.
Harlan James burst out of the ground only to run right into a Golden Light–shining Demon-Subduing Pestle crashing down. The timing was perfect; he didn’t even have time to dodge.
All he could do was meet it head-on.
"Boom!"
Harlan James felt as if someone had swung a massive club down hard on his head. Golden stars exploded before his eyes, his whole body felt wretched beyond words, and he instantly turned into a falling meteor, crashing back down.
The freshly fallen rocks were blasted apart by his body once again, exploding outward and forming a huge deep pit.
The Eight-Armed Arhat’s other arms, still wielding Magic Artifacts, smashed down right after, that might enough to destroy heaven and earth, terrifying beyond compare.
Harlan James felt like a red-hot chunk of iron on an anvil, being ruthlessly hammered again and again. His body was about to be beaten out of shape.
"Pfft!"
With each hit, the Golden Light on Harlan James’s body dimmed a bit. After taking a full, gapless round of blows from the Eight-Armed Arhat, the Golden Light on him was faint, his Barrier shattered, and a mouthful of fresh blood sprayed out. He was already seriously injured.
"Who?!"
Harlan James roared in fury and summoned his magical treasure, but before he could even lock onto the attacker, the Eight-Armed Arhat’s second round was already coming.
His magical treasure burst with Golden Light, forcibly blocking several strikes, but before it could last through the second round, it was swept sideways and sent flying far away.
The next second, the Eight-Armed Arhat’s Magic Artifacts slammed down on Harlan James again.
The bones in Harlan James’s body kept snapping with crisp cracks. Blood seeped from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose, his face pale as paper, utterly wretched.
The Eight-Armed Arhat’s storm-like pounding finally stopped, giving Harlan James a moment to breathe. He struggled to his feet and finally saw his opponent clearly.
A handsome young man stood in midair, and that heaven-supporting Eight-Armed Arhat stood behind him, like his personal door guardian, shielding him.
At the youth’s side stood a woman in black, with a graceful figure but rather ordinary features, her face cold as she watched this side.
Beside the two, he saw Faelorn Baker, staring up at the Eight-Armed Arhat in the sky with a look of reverence, his expression shaken.
Harlan James roared, "Faelorn Baker! You set me up!"
Heartbewildering Pathist turned his head, grimacing as he said, "Martial Uncle, don’t blame me. If I didn’t do this, my little life would be gone. You should be able to understand that, right? Just now you let me go in first—wasn’t that also because you wanted me to open the way and scout for you? We’re all the same here, so let’s not complain."
Harlan James gnashed his teeth, but there was nothing he could do.
The man wasn’t wrong. They might be from the same city, but who really treated the others like family?
Just now, when he discovered there was an entire world inside the tower, killing intent had risen in him at once. If Faelorn Baker dared to compete with him, he would have killed him.
Now that he’d been calculated against by Faelorn Baker, he had no one to blame. After all, none of them were good people.
"Who are you two?"
Carson Flores ignored him and turned his head to smile at Cassiane Sinclair. "He’s even weaker than I thought. I figured being a whole Realm below, I probably wouldn’t be able to beat him."
Cassiane Sinclair smiled. "The power of your Abnormal Phenomenon is enough to fight across Realms, and his actual strength is just average, so it’s perfectly normal that you can beat him."
Carson Flores laughed. "I used to always fight across Realms to beat people up, but after this whole journey, I’ve been dealing with these so-called prodigies every day. It almost made me lose my confidence..."
Cassiane Sinclair pursed her lips and chuckled lightly. "Don’t sell yourself short. Look, after just two rounds of pounding he can’t hold on anymore, and you still haven’t gone all out."
Carson Flores said with a smile, "Yeah, it’s doing wonders for my confidence."
Watching the two chat and laugh as if he didn’t exist, Harlan James was both enraged and humiliated.
Did they take him for a corpse? For an ant?
Harlan James shouted angrily, "We have no grudge between us—why are you plotting against me?"
Carson Flores’s gaze fell on Harlan James’s face as he said calmly, "You people from Black Tower City spend all day robbing passing Cultivators. It never occurred to you that one day you’d kick an iron plate and get killed in return?"
