Chapter 2359 - 2358: The Biggest Problem
Chapter 2359 - 2358: The Biggest Problem
Ling Feng had already planned it. The people of Ling Family Village were all arranged on the ninth floor. These were his first followers in the Xuanling Realm, so naturally, he wanted to treat them better.
Moreover, this ninth floor was not small. It could accommodate not just over two thousand people, but even ten thousand.
The Dragon Clan had only about a hundred people back then, yet they occupied such a large space. It was really too wasteful!
With the help of the Spring Water Hall, Ling Feng didn’t have to worry. The people of Ling Family Village were settled in.
As for the near thousand soldiers of the Ling Family army, under the leadership of several captains, they immediately plunged into the management work of Xuantian City.
After settling them, Ling Feng had the next step of work to do, and that was the slum below the first floor!
When he first arrived and passed through there, he had already seen countless emaciated people, and their lives were too miserable.
Ling Feng was a soft-hearted person who couldn’t bear to see others suffer.
So now, what he wanted to vigorously implement was to change their living conditions.
At dusk, the City Lord’s manor.
Ling Feng sat in a chair, his brows furrowed.
Lan was reporting today’s situation to him.
After a day, people in Xuantian City knew that the regime had changed and the Dragon Clan’s rule was overthrown.
Reactions varied; the vast majority were very happy, as they had all been oppressed by the Dragon Clan.
Of course, there were also those who were panicked, worried that the Dragon Clan wouldn’t stop here, would certainly come back for revenge, and Xuantian City would turn into a sea of fire!
Additionally, there were some small factions eager to incite trouble. They were former enthusiasts of the Dragon Clan, and even though their masters were wiped out overnight, they still wanted to be loyal to the Dragon Clan.
Ling Feng didn’t need to deal with these people. After Lan integrated the Ling Family army, the strength of the Spring Water Hall was absolutely the top in Xuantian City. Having them was enough.
The most important thing right now was the issue of the slum.
Speaking of which, Ling Feng said to Lan, "When we returned from Earth, I brought a lot of supplies, but there are too many people in the slum, and my supplies can only feed them for three days. After three days, they’ll still go hungry!"
"There’s food at the City Lord’s manor and the ninth floor, enough to sustain them for ten days, so no need to worry about that!" Lan said.
"Hmm, we can solve it in the short term, but we still have to think long-term. Although I don’t have much time left, I hope this place can remain stable for a long time," Ling Feng said.
Hearing him say this, Lan was stunned and widened her eyes: "Not much time left, what does that mean?"
"Uh, I forgot to tell you, my trial has a time limit. Now I see it’s almost a month and a half passed, soon halfway through." Ling Feng said.
Lan’s eyes flashed with a hint of shock, and she then asked, "Does that mean when the trial ends, you can’t come back?"
"I’m not sure either. Now, I’m considering it from the worst angle. In case I can’t return, I’ll leave Xuantian City for you to manage." Ling Feng said.
"It won’t happen! We have the Star Chain, don’t we?" Lan said.
"You don’t understand. The person who created the Xuanling Realm has capabilities far beyond our imagination. They’re unfathomable, what if they can block the Star Chain?" Ling Feng said.
Lan pursed her lips, "But, I managed to return after staying in Panlong Nation for so long."
From the bottom of her heart, she didn’t want Ling Feng to go.
Because Ling Feng was her pillar now, without him, Lan would feel an emptiness inside and wouldn’t know how to proceed.
Ling Feng looked at her, smiled, and said, "We’re considering the worst scenario right now. It might not be like that, so don’t worry."
"Okay!"
Lan nodded, and then asked, "What about the slum’s issue? We can make sure everyone has enough to eat for now, but what about next?"
"I’m considering that issue. Let’s start distributing grain from Spring Water Hall tomorrow morning. Let them have their fill first." Ling Feng said.
"Alright!"
Lan nodded.
The hall fell silent for a while, and neither of them spoke.
Ling Feng looked at her: "Alright, I have nothing else. You’ve been busy all day, go and rest!"
"Oh."
Lan bit her lip but didn’t move.
After a pause, she mustered her courage, raised her head, and said to Ling Feng, "Can you come with me?"
"Hmm?"
Ling Feng was taken aback, looked up at her: "Where to?"
"To my place at Spring Water Hall, I have something to show you." Lan said.
Seeing her eyes glistening, Ling Feng felt a stir in his heart, but still asked, "What do you want to show me?"
"You’ll know once you’re there!"
Lan didn’t say more, looking directly at him.
"Alright."
Ling Feng nodded and stood up.
Lan smiled, turned, and exited the door, then soared into the sky.
Ling Feng followed closely, and they reached the fourth floor one after the other.
This was where the previous headquarters of Spring Water Hall was located. Although they had occupied the ninth floor and turned it into the main hall, this place hadn’t been abandoned.
Two figures descended from the sky, but didn’t go in front, instead, they went directly to the inner courtyard at the back.
Then Lan gracefully entered a room, and Ling Feng followed her inside.
"You sit first, wait for a moment." Lan said.
Ling Feng nodded and sat down in a chair.
The air was filled with a faint fragrance, it was clear this was her boudoir. Ling Feng already had a vague sense of what was happening.
After a while, a sound of tinkling jewelry came, and Lan emerged from the inner room, having changed clothes and styled her hair.
She exuded a strong classical beauty, like a muse from a painting.
Seeing her like this, Ling Feng swallowed, his gaze somewhat entranced.
Lan gave a slight smile and approached: "Didn’t you want to know what I wanted to show you?"
"Uh, yes." Ling Feng nodded.
"It’s me!"
Lan smiled and sat directly on his lap.
Ling Feng’s heart tightened, confirming his suspicions, but he wore a wry smile: "Well, you know, I might not come back..."
"It doesn’t matter, as long as you’re still here, that’s enough. As for the future, I don’t want to think that far ahead!" Lan said softly.
Her eyes were filled with gentle affection, staring firmly at him, and Ling Feng felt touched, yet also reluctant.
He knew why Lan was willing to give herself to him; it was more out of reverence than affection, which was different from Mu Wan’er, whose motive was mainly out of gratitude.
Ling Feng thought to himself he really was a magnet for romance, always attracting beauty wherever he went; she was already the fourth in the Xuanling Realm.
To say he wasn’t troubled was slightly true.
But more than that, he felt a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
Which man wouldn’t wish for such adventurous romance?
Amidst his thoughts, Lan had already offered her fragrant lips, and Ling Feng naturally couldn’t be polite, bending down to meet them with a kiss.
