Chapter 143 Three People Together
Chapter 143 Three People Together
Chapter 143 Three's Company
"So, Miss Nagini is recovered now, right?" Luna said casually, kicking the water in the Black Lake with her foot.
"Yes—yes." Roy nodded cautiously.
Actually, she not only recovered, but she's still with me now—but Loila didn't say this aloud because she didn't want to reveal her existence without Miss Nagini's permission.
If it weren't for the fact that she and Mr. Lupin told Luna about it on Christmas night, Loila wouldn't have really wanted to say these things.
This is, after all, someone else's private matter—Loira felt she was quite careful to protect other people's privacy—
See, she didn't go around spreading the fact that Mr. Scrimgeour is a vampire, right?
Even though Luna is wonderful, smart, and adorable —
Hmm—watching her happily splashing in the water, Loila smiled slightly.
"He's just a kid after all," Roy thought subconsciously, then pulled his feet out of the water.
But just then, Loila suddenly felt a movement in the cuff of her right sleeve, and the little snake that Miss Nagini had transformed into emerged from it.
"Ugh! Nagini—" Loila instinctively reached out to cover her, but she heard Miss Nagini hissing.
She—she wants to be friends with Luna too?
Loila paused for a moment, then watched as Miss Nagini slowly crawled up to Luna's side and then onto her sleeve.
This won't—will it scare Luna?
Loila instinctively gripped her wand tighter, just in case something unexpected happened—
"Ah—" Luna suddenly let out a small gasp. She seemed to have noticed Miss Nagini—but she didn't have the dramatic reaction that Loila had expected.
She simply gasped and then gently stroked Miss Nagini's head with her fingers.
"Is this Miss Nagini?" she suddenly asked, making Loila shudder.
How did you figure that out?
"Intuition." Luna chuckled softly, looking at Nagini with curiosity. "Can Miss Nagini speak in her Animagus form?"
"Or do you understand what we're saying?"
"Hiss hiss hiss."
Well, Miss Nagini answered the question in a language Luna couldn't understand.
Then, as if realizing something, she gently flicked her body and transformed back into human form to Luna's astonishment.
"Like this—like this—" Loila subconsciously looked around to make sure no one would notice—Miss Nagini is an illegal Animagus!
It would be dangerous if I were reported!
Those Aurors are the most nosy people—but thankfully, there weren't many people around Black Lake in the afternoon.
Therefore, no one noticed Miss Nagini's change.
Loila looked around for a few seconds, and when she turned back, she was surprised to find that Luna was already lying on Miss Nagini's lap.
What is this?!
How come you two are suddenly so close?! Luna and I were the first to become friends! And knee injuries—I haven't even—I haven't even been lying down yet!
"Is Loila going to lie down too?" Luna asked, beckoning to Loila.
"This—this isn't right—" Loila quickly refused, blushing. She didn't want to—didn't want to be like this—not just lying on someone else's lap, but lying with—and Luna—
Although they seem to have slept in the same bed—but that doesn't matter! This is outside—
If someone sees this—
"Ouch!" Loila was thinking when she felt Luna suddenly grab her arm and she ended up lying on Miss Nagini's lap.
"Nagini—Miss Nagini! I'm sorry!"
"It's alright." Nagini smiled gently and reached out to tidy Loila's hair.
"That's fine." She shrugged gently.
"Yes—it feels like Christmas Eve," Luna whispered. Because they were so close, her voice sounded like the ringing of wind chimes, making Loira's ears tingle.
Ah—so my ears were itchy because Luna's hair scratched them.
"No—don't do this—" Loila subconsciously tried to brush the hair away, but Miss Nagini gently pressed it back down.
"Hogwarts is such a beautiful place after all —" Nagini murmured, pursing her lips.
It's actually not beautiful—especially considering Dumbledore lives here—
Indeed—lying quietly by the Black Lake, Loira felt an unprecedented tranquility, as if it were the memory of Mr. Riddle's disappearance, Mr. Lockhart's entanglement, the defense against the dark arts lessons, and Grindelwald's great achievements that she pondered constantly—
They all drifted away with the gentle breeze —
It's still winter, but inexplicably there's a spring-like atmosphere—like lying on the green lawn of Neumorgad—or like being back in a Bavarian cottage—
"Loira?" Luna's voice suddenly came. Miss Lovegood withdrew her hand and asked softly, "Are you worried about Mr. Lockhart?"
"Ah—" Upon suddenly hearing that name, Loila instinctively shuddered—thankfully—thankfully Mr. Lockhart hadn't appeared—
But Luna did get about a third of it right.
So she nodded gently and said, "Almost—more or less—"
As she answered, Loila thought of the rumors circulating among the students and quickly explained, "But—but Mr. Lockhart definitely isn't—isn't pursuing me—"
"Has anyone said that?" Luna asked slowly.
"Yes—yes—" And there are quite a few people, at least everyone in that Pinecone Party thinks so, except for myself—Loila hasn't forgotten that she was forced to join the Pinecone Party.
"Is that so—" Luna nodded thoughtfully. "Is Loila bothered by this?"
"Hmm————" Loila nodded gently. Such rumors were not good for either her or Mr. Lockhart.
Especially Mr. Lockhart—such a brilliant wizard was forced to be with me—
"Does Loila want to resolve this?" Miss Nagini suddenly asked, her gentle, delicate fingers still playing with Loila's hair, as if she were toying with some carefully crafted toy.
"Yes, I do—" Loila answered instinctively.
Luna blinked and answered almost simultaneously with Miss Nagini, "Actually, there is a way."
"What method?"
Nagini chuckled softly: "Kill him."
"Eek!" Loila quickly shook her head: "This...this isn't quite right..."
Killing someone over something like this is definitely inappropriate—but wouldn't it be okay to use the Cruciatus Curse to let Mr. Lockhart know he couldn't do it?—Well, the Imperius Curse would be better, wouldn't it?—It wouldn't be good if Mr. Lockhart lost his voice from the pain.
Wait, wouldn't the Oblivion Spell be even better?
"I have another way," Luna whispered.
"It can't be... like this, can it?" Loila subconsciously pursed her lips.
"Of course not!" Luna said, suddenly getting up and moving from lying on her knees to sitting face down on them, her big eyes looking intently into Loila's eyes.
"That means Professor Hamilton already has a girlfriend."
"Ah—wait, what?!" Loila quickly shook her head: "That's impossible—"
"And who would be willing to—"
"I do," Luna said softly, blinking her eyes.
"I'd like to as well," Miss Nagini said gently.
"Ah! No—no, that won't do!" Loila said hurriedly, blushing. "This kind of thing—we're both girls!"
"Of course." Luna chuckled as she looked at Loila, a strand of hair slipping from her forehead and gently brushing against Loila's face.
"So, I was just kidding."
Luna's answer surprised Loila for a moment, then she noticed that both of them had smiles on their faces.
It was obvious they were all joking.
Those two are really malicious—they must be trying to make a fool of themselves!
Loila pouted and closed her eyes—
However—but this is also quite interesting—
Of course, I'm not referring to what Luna just said!
(All interactions in this chapter are between girls and represent friendship, just to clarify! (=V=))
