Chapter 43: Memory Magic Array
Chapter 43: Memory Magic Array
"Mr. Riddle... this is ancient runes of memory, right?" As soon as she returned to her room, Loila immediately opened her diary and wrote.
"I don't know either." After a long silence, Riddle slowly wrote in his elegant handwriting on the diary: "After all, I said... I've forgotten, haven't I?"
"Ah... I'm sorry..." Loila muttered to herself before realizing what she was doing and writing it in her diary.
"So...you went to Hogwarts, right?" Riddle asked slowly.
"Ah...yes..." Loila wrote somewhat hastily, "I haven't forgotten about you...it's just that I have to go see Dumbledore first...and it's in a hurry."
"I know," Riddle replied considerately. "It'll be the same when school starts."
"There will be more students then...which will allow me to reminisce about my student days."
Mr. Riddle really misses Hogwarts… Loila pursed her lips and couldn’t help but start thinking about what there was to miss about Hogwarts… This morning’s experience had already left her somewhat exhausted.
First, I was woken up by a house-elf standing in my bedroom, then I encountered a whole bunch of people at Hogwarts... then Dumbledore... and Professor Snape...
Just thinking of his name made Loila feel a little scared.
This "he" includes both Dumbledore and Snape...
Ah, I don't want to think about these things anymore... Loila shook her head and quickly focused her attention on the magic circle.
The magic circle I saw on the Pensieve was exactly the same as the one in Mr. Riddle's diary.
That basically confirms that the magic circle is related to memories...
Loila pursed her lips, gently picked up the quill pen, and began to draw the magic circle patterns on the parchment in front of her, following the patterns on the diary.
Instead of drawing the energy storage magic array first, she drew the memory magic array directly. The two magic arrays are not exactly the same. What they have in common is the hub located in the center of the magic array, which is the ancient magic script.
As Loila completed the magic circle, she gently raised her wand and tapped it.
As a little magic was injected, the parchment in front of her immediately lit up, and then a halo appeared as if a hand was pulling Loila into it.
"Miss Hamilton?"
What came into view was a dimly lit corridor, with a young man with short black hair standing against the slightly mottled walls.
"Müller...?" Looking at the person in front of her, Loila paused for a moment and subconsciously pursed her lips.
However, Muller shook his head as if he hadn't seen Loila. He walked towards Loila and then passed through her as she instinctively backed away.
"Huh?" Loila turned her head in surprise and saw a silver-haired girl with messy hair sitting in the corner.
Is that... me?
Loila saw those pointed ears... Yes, that's me... So where is this place?
Durmstrang?
But why are there two of me? Loila pondered for a few seconds and then understood the reason... This must be her own memories, right?
It must have been that the memory magic array was activated and pulled me into my past memories.
As Loila was pondering, she saw Muller slowly approach the student and then reach out to pat her head.
Has Müller ever done that?
Loila was stunned for a moment, and subconsciously felt a little ashamed... that she had been treated like a pet...
"Müller?" Loila, a student, looked up at Müller. "You... what's wrong?" she asked tremulously, then huddled against the wall.
"I heard about Karkaroff; he's causing you trouble again, isn't he?"
"Ah...it's okay...I'm fine..."
Looking at her younger self, waving her hands and looking pale, Loila bit her lower lip tightly.
If Müller asked me that question again today... would I still give the same answer?
"This doesn't look like nothing's wrong." Muller frowned, raising his wand: "Fluorescence."
A ray of light appeared, illuminating the dark corridor and Miss Loila Hamilton's dirty, bloodied face.
"Why didn't you fight back?" Muller reached out to help Loila wipe away the bloodstains, but when he saw the girl trembling, he slowly withdrew his hand.
"I...I don't know...spells," the girl whispered. "I...I don't..."
"How could you not learn it?" Muller paused for a moment, then said, "It's just chanting a spell and waving a wand..."
Yes, chanting a spell, waving a wand... it's incredibly simple for any normal person... but for myself...
Loila looked at the wand in her hand, then at herself sitting in the corner.
"Reciting the incantation...it's too difficult..." the girl stammered, "I'll...faint..."
"This..." Muller was also stunned. He looked at the timid girl in silence for a long while before asking, "Where are your parents?"
"Wasn't your father a wizard?"
"Didn't he teach you?"
"My father is already..." the girl said softly, her somewhat messy hair obscuring her face and making her expression unreadable.
I think I'm about to cry?
Or perhaps not?
Loila herself couldn't remember this incident.
But she remembered Muller's answer.
"Then there's no need to chant incantations to use spells, Miss Hamilton." Almost the next second, Loila's mutterings overlapped with Muller's.
"Then let's not chant the spell," Mueller repeated, speaking to the stunned girl. "While a silent spell weakens its power, it's still much better than not knowing any spells at all, isn't it?"
"But I...I don't even..."
Telling someone who doesn't even know a spoken spell to learn a silent spell... Loila subconsciously pursed her lips.
"Many wizards know the Silent Charm," Muller interrupted the girl's hesitant words, saying with unusual certainty, "Grindelwald knows the Silent Charm, as does Dumbledore, who fought against him."
How come Dumbledore is here too...? Royla never expected that she would first hear this name here... Fortunately, according to her memories, there shouldn't be anything to worry about, right?
“Many other people do that too,” Muller continued. “So, Miss Hamilton, why can’t you be one of them?”
"I...I can't..." the girl waved her hands, refusing. "I'm a Veela half-blood...not a pure-blood wizard..."
"Dumbledore wasn't a pure-blood wizard either," Muller couldn't help but say. "And you know what?"
"Veveled can even cast spells without a wand."
"Really?" The girl was taken aback.
"Of course it's true!" Muller suddenly paused, then his eyes darted around. "I've seen it..."
It seems that she didn't realize Muller was lying back then... Loila couldn't help but think as she looked at herself raising her head slightly.
"But...but how...how should I learn?"
"Let's do it together." Muller took out his wand. "I also want to learn the Silent Spell."
"We can practice together."
"But you... you must be... you must be really amazing, right?" the girl said uncertainly. "I heard you... used that... spell."
"The Cruciatus Curse?" Muller chuckled. "It's just some rumors that frighten Karkaroff."
"I do know quite a few spells, but isn't this perfect?" He shrugged. "I can teach you, and we can practice silent spells together."
"Don't worry."
"I will stand with Lord Grindelwald in the future, so I can naturally learn the Silent Charm, and so can you."
I have indeed learned the Silent Spell… As everything before me began to gradually fade into the distance, Loila pursed her lips.
Not only that... but I might also be the wizard who is most skilled at silent spells?
Much of the credit should go to Müller... He was a great teacher...
But... thinking about what would happen next, Loila shook her head and closed her eyes.
When she opened her eyes again, everything before her had returned to that familiar tavern room, and the magic circle on the table had lost its light.
Perhaps it's because the injected magic power has been exhausted...
She breathed a soft sigh of relief, thankful that she hadn't poured in too much magic, since the ending of the story didn't seem to be going so well...
Also... it seems I succeeded.
Loila held up the parchment in her hand, a smile appearing on her pale face.
I learned a new ancient magic script and a magic array that can extract memories.
