Chapter 105. The Strange Loki
Chapter 105. The Strange Loki
Chapter 105. The Strange Loki
"It feels so good to get something for nothing, and those old geezers are even grateful to me," Stark said, taking a sip of his whiskey and letting out a long sigh.
On the table in front of him were more than a dozen pieces of vibranium of varying sizes, all of which had been obtained in exchange from the government and the military.
Even they didn't know that the vibranium came from Wakanda. All they knew was that smugglers occasionally smuggled this metal, and they couldn't find any other sources.
This also reflects that Wakanda's technology is indeed far superior to that of the outside world, making it difficult to find.
However, what pleased Stark the most was not this matter, but those few old, decrepit men. Those jars of immortality factors seemed to be working properly and had indeed made them younger.
But the clever boy didn't believe that Ji Yuan would be so kind as to go to the trouble of modifying the immortality factor; that thing was definitely a scam, one hundred percent.
"Now we just need to wait for Hydra and those organizations to show up. They will definitely have a lot of manpower this time, and those hiding in the shadows will finally reveal their true colors. Immortality is, after all, an irresistible temptation for ordinary people."
Ji Yuan took a sip of tea and said that he was still not used to drinking alcohol.
Of course, it won't just be Earth's organizations that make a move this time; other races from the Nine Realms who want Thor's life will also join in. Then we'll see who can defeat whom.
Steve and his team might not even need to lift a finger; all the groups could potentially perish together.
New Mexico, temporary base of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Alien Research Agency.
Thor dragged his weary body back to his room.
I didn't do any training with Steve today, but it would have been better to train anyway.
Those new human researchers asked them to recount the history of Asgard? That's ridiculous! How could they possibly finish telling such a long history?
I could only pick out a few things that I remembered and talk about them casually.
Finally, you have to rack your brains to answer those people's bizarre questions about lifespan, physiological structure, and reproductive methods—and you even have to be naked for the examination.
Of course, the most annoying thing is drawing blood. Why do these mortals like to study blood so much? They are gods. If gods can be studied so easily by mortals, can they still be considered gods?
It's ridiculous!
Finally, we have to fill out some kind of psychological assessment form. It's unbelievable! These mortals are such a hassle. How could a god who upholds justice act so recklessly?
Humans are so fragile.
Thor lay on the bed, his eyes filled with excitement and anticipation. According to Steve, once that Earth terrorist organization was eliminated, he could go to the city where the messenger of the gods was located.
The even greater power, originating from its own lightning, is truly captivating.
He secretly vowed to lift Mjolnir with his own strength, not for any recognition. A king does not need recognition!
As Thor pondered, his eyelids grew heavy, and he slowly drifted into sleep.
Perhaps it was a case of what one thinks about during the day manifesting in one's dreams at night; he had a dream in which he returned to Asgard.
In his dream, he was like a ghost, walking on an empty, golden road.
Everywhere you looked, there were corpses—the corpses of the people of Asgard, and the corpses of many other races. Besides that…
There were no survivors.
Frost giants, dark elves, fire giants, stone golems, and other races of unknown origin piled up on the road, twisting into a mountain of flesh.
Different colored blood pooled in puddles, and an unknown strange bird gnawed at the corpses on the pile. The stench of decay and blood filled the nostrils, but Thor remained expressionless, as if he had long since become numb, and simply walked mechanically.
A sticky, fishy sensation came from the semi-congealed blood underfoot, and each step made a squelching, sticky sound.
Thor's face showed a hint of disgust, but he continued walking forward.
A voice inside him told him to keep moving forward, keep moving forward, and he would see everything he wanted to see.
He simply strode forward mechanically.
Soon, they arrived at the Golden Palace at the end, which was Odin's royal palace.
Thor's pupils suddenly contracted, as if he had seen something shocking.
Seated on the throne was a jet-black figure with two horns on its head, its mouth stretched to its ears, revealing a scarlet tongue and pale teeth.
There seemed to be some bits of meat stuck to it.
At its feet was a mechanical head, burning with jet-black flames—Odin's Destroyer armor.
And in its right hand it held a familiar spear, the divine weapon Gungnir.
At the top of the spear was a head, the head of Odin, the father of the gods.
Blood welled in his eyes as he let out a deafening roar: "Thor!!!"
"No! No!! No!!!"
Thor jolted awake from his dream, his body drenched in cold sweat, his golden hair clinging to his skin, creating an unpleasant sensation.
A burning sensation came from his mouth, and he instinctively wanted to get up and drink some water.
But suddenly they discovered that a powerful force was binding their bodies, making them unable to move at all.
Turning my head, I saw a dark shadow with two horns on its head standing by the bed, its snow-white teeth gleaming coldly in the dark night.
"Ah!! You—who are you?"
Thor struggled desperately to his feet, then abruptly stopped, his voice filled with extreme rage: "Loki! What are you doing? How dare you insult the Allfather in my dream!"
Loki gave a satisfied smile and slowly bent down, saying, "Oh, my foolish brother, I didn't control your dreams. You dreamed them yourself. I only played a guiding role. It was you who was disrespectful to the Allfather."
Thor glared angrily at Loki. The dream he had just had had terrified him; it was so real, as if it had actually happened.
Loki should never have blasphemed the Father of the Gods, even if it was just a dream.
Thor said angrily, "What are you doing here?"
Loki stood up, spun around, and said, "As you can see, I can make Heimdall use the Bifrost at will. I am now the King of Asgard."
"You?" Thor laughed. "Don't try to fool me with these little tricks anymore. I've figured out what the Allfather means, and soon..."
I will return with even greater power.
"In fact, the Father of the Gods has already passed away. Before he died, he passed the throne to me and instructed me to discipline you well, to discipline you, you reckless and warlike brute."
As Loki spoke, images appeared around him: Odin's dying words and the coronation ceremony in Asgard.
This signifies that Loki has become the king of Asgard, the ruler of the Nine Realms.
"Pfft! Hahahaha." Thor burst into laughter. "Loki, my foolish brother, your little tricks no longer work on me. I am no longer the Thor I once was. When I complete my trials and return to Asgard, I won't need Mjolnir to electrify you."
A flicker of relief crossed Loki's eyes, which he quickly concealed. He looked down at Thor, his voice carrying a hollowness that seemed to be pierced by countless barriers: "Thor, do you think there truly are perfect stories in the universe?"
"Perfect? What's perfect? Untie me, and don't use your divine power. See if I can beat you to a pulp and make this experience the most beautiful memory in your story." Thor twisted his body, trying to break free from the unbelievably immense pressure.
Loki smiled gently, his eyes filled with a tenderness Thor had never seen in over a thousand years. "Brother, you're very good at pretending. It seems you've really grown up."
"The story has taken a turn. Just as I thought, everyone should have their own story and the freedom to choose. They were all wrong. I was the one who made the right choice, and I will protect it all."
"Perhaps, in the days that are not yet over, we will meet again."
A dazzling green light flashed, and Loki disappeared from the room.
Thor's eyes widened in confusion, followed by bewilderment. All memories of the strange conversation vanished, leaving only the recollection of Loki's pranks and disrespect for the Allfather.
He writhed in rage on the bed, roaring, "Loki, when I get back to Asgard, I'm going to beat your ass to a pulp!!!"
Soon it was morning, and Steve didn't wait for Thor in the training room. Instead, he took breakfast and went straight to Thor's room.
The plan has begun, and Thor's safety is of paramount importance, as he is an Asgardian "diplomat."
However, as soon as Steve arrived outside Thor's door, his expression changed. Under his powerful senses, Thor's aura was strange, both rapid and weak.
He quickly opened the door and was met by Thor, whose face was flushed, who looked furious, but had huge dark circles under his eyes.
"Thor, what's wrong?" Steve quickly stepped forward to ask.
Thor said sullenly, "My brother Loki came last night. He mocked me and played tricks on me while I was without my powers."
They pinned me to the bed, and I couldn't turn over all night. I was so angry I couldn't sleep a wink.
Steve tried hard to suppress a laugh, and said with a slightly nasal tone, "Is that the God of Mischief? Looks like he really does enjoy playing pranks."
"I came all this way just so you wouldn't be able to sleep."
"You two brothers seem to have a pretty good relationship."
"I definitely will! When I get back, I'll give him a good beating and hang him up to beat him!" Thor roared hoarsely.
His expression, combined with that, made him look extremely comical.
Steve finally couldn't hold back his laughter and said between laughs, "So, how should I help you?"
"Hmm, perhaps I should ask Envoy Ji Yuan for help."
Steve quickly contacted Ji Yuan, who casually drew a portal on the bed and effortlessly dispelled Loki's magic, instantly freeing Thor.
Hearing Thor's complaints, a strange glint flashed in Ji Yuan's eyes. After exchanging pleasantries with Steve for a while, he closed the portal.
It should be noted that a wisp of his will has always enveloped this base, and the ability to cross the barrier of will and communicate with Thor without anyone noticing is something Loki could never do.
Ji Yuan was startled: "Could it be him?"
He smiled knowingly: "This universe is interesting."
