Chapter 179 Students
At noon, the Great Hall of Hogwarts was incredibly noisy, with students sitting together chatting and enjoying delicious food.
For most students, it seemed like just another Monday—except, of course, for Harry.
He frowned, leaned on the table, and sighed as he looked at the several feet of parchment in front of him.
"Hasn't it started yet, Harry?" Hermione asked casually as she sat down with her plate.
"It's not that it hasn't started yet, it's that it doesn't plan to start, right?" Ron raised an eyebrow and said irritably, "That Snape guy—he's really awful."
"He's just become a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor—yet he's making things so difficult for us."
"Yes, that's right. After that crisis, Professor Hamilton took a break, and then—that wretched Snape became the acting professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts."
Unlike Professor Hamilton, who had previously been laissez-faire and almost never assigned homework, he deducted twenty points from Gryffindor on the first day and also gave everyone an extra five-foot-long essay.
In addition, he made up for the regret that Harry could only be challenged by him in Potions class, as Defense Against the Dark Arts was another Potions class for Harry.
"Mr. Pott!"
"Mr. Pott?"
"Mr. Pott!!"
Harry even felt a bit overreacted; the moment he heard someone call him that, he felt a surge of inexplicable anger.
"Sigh—" He let out a long sigh under the watchful eyes of Hermione and Ron.
Seeing his expression, Ron and Hermione exchanged a glance and decided to change the subject.
"Have you seen Professor Hamilton lately?" Hermione asked after thinking for a moment.
"Are you asking us?" Ron tilted his head and shrugged. "Don't you Pinecone Party members pay more attention to her?"
"Then we won't follow Professor Hamilton every day," Hermione corrected.
Ron pursed his lips and said, "Really not?"
"Ever since Professor Hamilton's appearance was exposed, you seem to have gone on a wild goosebumps," Ron said, as if suddenly remembering something. "Wasn't Lockhart already in Azkaban?"
"Then why does your Pinecone Party still exist?"
Hermione lowered her head guiltily upon hearing this: "We—we're not just protecting Professor Hamilton—"
"Professor Hamilton doesn't need your protection, does he?"
"The important part is what comes after!" Hermione slammed her hand on the table, startling Ron and Harry.
"Don't you guys think Professor Hamilton is amazing?"
"Hmm—of course I think so," Harry said after thinking for a moment. "Hamilton is indeed very impressive."
He had personally witnessed Professor Hamilton effortlessly defeat Voldemort without sustaining any harm—well, not exactly without any injury—but the thought of what Professor Hamilton looked like behind that mask...
Harry actually blushed a little—Professor Hamilton was probably the most beautiful girl he had ever seen—and she also had long silver hair and pointed ears—
"Harry? Harry?!"
"Ah!" Harry was brought back to his senses after Ron nudged his shoulder.
"What were you thinking about just now?" Ron asked, puzzled. "Why did your face turn so red when Professor Hamilton was mentioned?"
"Nothing!" Harry shook his head briskly, dismissing those wild thoughts. "I was just thinking about what happened that day."
"Professor Hamilton is truly amazing," Hermione nodded. "He managed to defeat Voldemort so easily—"
"It's a pity that Headmaster Dumbledore doesn't allow us to publicize this, otherwise we would have even more members in the Pinecone Party."
"So your Pinecone Party is just Professor Hamilton's fan club?" Ron said, as if finally understanding something. "You guys are really boring!"
“This is anything but boring!” Hermione retorted. “Professor Hamilton is not only the only one—”
A person who has completely mastered the silent spell!
"He also won the Durmstrang Duel Tournament twice, and is an expert in magic arrays, and—"
"And he even killed a Muggle and went to jail."
Ron's mutterings made Harry and Hermione frown at the same time.
"You should know that's definitely not true!" Hermione said seriously.
"Ron, I think so too now." Harry also unconsciously became a little serious: "Professor Hamilton saved us."
"Of course I know." Ron quickly waved his hand, seeing this, "I was just joking."
"Alright, alright, I admit Professor Hamilton is really impressive, okay?" Ron shook his head and said, "You were praising Mr. Lockhart the same way before."
"You're not jealous, are you?" Hermione seemed to understand something, and rolled her eyes.
"What—what do you mean by this?" Ron stood up somewhat flusteredly and said, "I didn't!"
"Really not?" Hermione shook her head. "The way you're talking is like seeing Malfoy when Harry was the Seeker!"
"I'm not as annoying as him, and I'm not jealous or anything like that—"
"Ah, good afternoon, Harry, Ron, and Hermione." Just as the small group seemed about to start arguing, a slightly dazed voice came from behind.
The three looked up and saw Luna with a smile on her face.
"Good afternoon, Luna." Hermione nodded gently to her, while Ron and Harry raised their eyebrows somewhat awkwardly.
"May I sit here?" Although she said that, Luna had already quietly sat down next to the three of them.
She was wearing a strange hat with two crookedly written letters "P" on it.
This is the symbol of the Pinecone Party.
"Are you discussing Professor Hamilton?" Luna asked softly, tilting her head as she slowly sat down.
"Ah—we were just chatting casually," Harry explained after a moment's thought.
Ron, however, pursed his lips and remained silent, still angry about Hermione's words.
"Luna, Ron is actually jealous of Professor Hamilton," Hermione said directly, without any attempt to hide anything. "He actually thinks that?"
"I'm not jealous of her!" Ron retorted loudly, "I just—"
"I understand what Ron is thinking," Luna said softly. Although her voice was not loud, it unexpectedly silenced both Ron and Hermione.
"Professor Hamilton is indeed a very capable person." Luna picked up her pumpkin juice from the table and shrugged. "But, no one can be liked by everyone, can they?"
"And I don't think Ron was jealous." She smiled knowingly, then looked at Hermione: "He was just—"
"Hmm—" She seemed to have thought of something but didn't speak. Instead, she looked at Hermione with a smile: "In any case, I think Hermione, you shouldn't have said that about Ron."
"Ah, thank you, Luna—" Ron gave a smug smile and was about to thank her when he heard Luna continue, "Although Ron isn't very good with words and often unintentionally says hurtful things."
"That's really hurtful of you to say that!" Ron couldn't help but say, which caused Harry and Hermione to burst into laughter.
Sometimes friendship works like that, making anger dissipate inexplicably, and sometimes budding love works like that, making anger come inexplicably.
